Eddy Cornelison | 4 comments I've been looking for this book for years. It's a kids book, came out in the late 80s or early 90s. It was a puzzle book and one of the characters was a golden robot monkey. There would be puzzles in space, or there was a city block with stairs to nowhere, backwards signs, things like that. I remember another puzzle was a maze but the layout was like a giant brain. But the main thing I remember was there was a golden robot monkey. I lost this book as a kid and I've been looking for it for years so hoping someone maybe remembers it.

Eddy, I added some details to the topic header, so your book might be recognized from the header alone. Feel free to update it by clicking the small "edit" link after the header. This only works on the full Desktop website – not the Mobile website or app.

Can you describe the illustrations - e.g., simple or detailed, realistic or cartoony, painted watercolors or bold graphics, bright or dark colors, black & white? Do they remind you of a similar illustrator or picture book author?

Thanks. I do know it wasn't highlights, I feel like it was it's own thing. But drawing wise, it was color and kinda realistic, more like a cartoon but a realistic cartoon if that makes sense.

Planet of Terror?
A Walker GameBook
The Planet of Terror

I can't say for sure but I've looked at a lot of covers over the years and that's probably as close to what I remember as I've seen. I bought it on Amazon for $10, it's at least worth a look. Thanks, hopefully this is the one.

Here's the Google Books preview of The Planet of Terror by Patrick Burston - STU's suggestion:

https://books.google.com/books?id=e4g... There are different cover images.

Snippet search for "monkey" = "Your sole companion is ME 2, a mechnical monkey who is not always helpful. Whatever happens, you cannot turn back. Gook luck!"
