Elizabeth (persephone17) Hello! This is one of the pages for the 2015 PopSugar reading challenge, especially for the pick, 'A Book with Magic'. Post what you're reading for this one down below, and discuss with others, share your thoughts on your pick, give suggestions for others, etc.

Jennifer A bit of a cheat as I'm reading them anyway, but I've used Dragon Age The Masked Empire by Patrick Weekes for this one. It's got lots of mages doing shiny spells in it.

Just finished it and I very much enjoyed it. Recommend it to any DA fans :)

Yes, they would! :) For this challenge, you can reread books, too.

Nerdish Mum (nerdishmum) | 134 comments The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J K Rowling, so Harry Potter, without Harry Potter

message 8: by Fay (new)

Fay Roberts Well done @sam. Any good?

I have Throne of Glass to read for this one! I've only heard good things about the series.

Samantha (samanyaaron) | 146 comments @Fay - Its brilliant. If you've enjoyed Maria V Snyder and Kristen Cashore then its one for you. I'm on the last book now.

@Elizabeth Do read it, I really enjoyed it. I would recommend reading Throne of Glass, then the prequel omnibus( The Assassins Blade) and then Crown of Midnight and then Heir of Fire.
I'm not sure who recommended reading in that order but it worked for me.

Samantha (samanyaaron) | 146 comments @elizabeth Enjoy :-) hope you enjoy it as much as I did

message 13: by Jodez (new)

Jodez (jodez4) | 66 comments Reading The Enchanted Wood as my childhood read, so thought I'd read The Magic Faraway Tree for the Magic book.

Decided I'll read them, and The Folk of the Faraway Tree, with my younger 2 kids (the eldest has already read them) knowing they'll enjoy them as much as I did when I was their age.

I have officially finished this book

message 15: by Fay (new)

Fay Roberts @Amber - yay! Well done :-)

message 16: by Fay (new)

Fay Roberts Feeling maudlin after finishing The Story Sisters I decided to throw myself into a pit of despair and read Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman. Fortunately for my family this book is not as depressing as her others I've read and I have not yet given myself over to the dark side and started playing emo music and wearing copious amounts of black eyeliner. An excellent quick read I highly recommend it.

message 18: by Cecilia (new)

Cecilia Kennedy | 13 comments Magyk by Angie Sage! It's very similar to Harry Potter but very different as well! It's full of magic and chaos and the whole series (8 books total) was delightful to read!!

message 19: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (persephone17) I finished Throne of Glass for this back in January! Such a good book- I can't wait to continue with the series after I've read a few more books for the Popsugar challenge.
