This is a place for you to ask me any questions!
Like:
Can I read this book for the challenge?
Does this book fulfil this specific task's requirement?
etc

If you've found a spelling mistake or grammar mistake in the chapter you're reading feel free to point it out here as well.

If you're having a problem or an issue you can tell me about it here OR you can message me directly if you feel more comfortable that way.

my choice is Ninth House

Great choice Jessica! Fulfils the requirements of the task perfectly👏🏻 Also looks like a great book, I've added it to my tbr. Enjoy reading and let me know on the completed chapter discussion when you've finished it!

Tishara Corcoran For chaper A, im choosing 2b. Would The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires work?? Since i havent read it yet i dont know if they join in the book or they are already a group.

I haven't read the book myself but I'd say it counts. Doesn't seem like the group is secret but the only way to know if it is is to read the book and in any case I'm not being too strict, there is group that seems to be exclusive in the book so I say yeah go ahead with it. It sounds like an interesting read, enjoy!

Awesome! And i've heard a lot of good things about it. I adore the author and love her writing so i'm sure i'm going to love this too. plus the premise is just fascinating. And i shall do that!

ninth house sounds like it'd be a great october read. that's when i intended to read it last year but never got around to it lol. i hope you enjoy it when you do read it!

Kadi P (kadi_p) | 4291 comments Mod
I'm hoping some people end up choosing option 1 as well because that's also a pretty fun path to take too... Either choice is a good one but it'd be cool to see a variety!
Can't wait to see everyone else's book choices for the task they chose!!

Speaking of October reads, I actually do plan to host the October readathon again! It's been a couple of months since we did the random-picker readathon and after last years success of the October readathon it's practically tradition now😂

message 13: by Bella (new)

Bella For prompt 1b, would ‘Salem’s Lot by Stephen King count? I don’t know much about it since I prefer to go into Stephen King-like books blind, but from what I understand, it does have some sort of father figure aspect.

message 14: by Kadi, Creator (new)

Kadi P (kadi_p) | 4291 comments Mod
@Bella I don’t want to spoil the plot for you in case you’re going to read it in the future but I’ve done some research on it and I’d say it doesn’t really fit the criteria of the task. Still sounds like a great read! But won’t fulfil the task.
Do you have any other books in mind?

message 15: by Selina (new)

Selina (selinaannsshelf) | 4 comments Does Glass Sword count for option 2b, as the character is already a part of the secret organisation?

message 16: by Bella (new)

Bella @Kadi oh yeah I have no shortage of books lol. I’ll definitely find something that fits.

message 17: by Kadi, Creator (new)

Kadi P (kadi_p) | 4291 comments Mod
@Selina yep sounds good, go for it! Enjoy😊

@Bella oh good! I didn’t want it to be like I said no to the only book you had available! Looking forward to hearing what you end up reading. Feel free to ask any more qs if you’ve got any😊👏🏻

message 26: by Evie (new)

Evie M (evie-m) | 7 comments would Inkheart by Cornelia Funke count for 1b? I'm pretty sure that one of the main relationships in the book is a loving relationship between the father and daughter

message 27: by Kafia (new)

Kafia For chapter A I was thinking of choosing option 2B and reading the book https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3... its the second book in a series and in the first one the main character sort of joins a royal family in order to become undercover princess also a secret organisation is recruiting bad guys I haven’t read the second one yet but I’m sure it follows the same themes and I was just wondering if it fit the requirements :)

message 28: by Randa (new)

Randa Mathias (randa_mathias) For task 2B I was thinking of reading The Secret History. It sounds like a secret group of students, but is it really? I'm worried it will be too normal of a school setting. If anyone has read it, does it work for the prompt?

Yes that's actually a really great choice! I've wanted to read this book for so long. I enjoyed the movie a lot😂 Hope you like the book!

Che~ BLM wrote: "For chapter A I was thinking of choosing option 2B and reading the book https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3..."
It definitely seems like there's a secret group in the book so I say it counts! Enjoy reading it😊

Randa wrote: "For task 2B I was thinking of reading The Secret History."
Definitely seems like the class they're in is an exclusive or secret group so I say it fulfils the criteria so go for it!!

Sophie wrote: "would And Then There Were None count for 2b?"
This book sounds so great!! I can't wait to see what you think of it! It counts for 2b so enjoy!😊 I've added it to my own TBR because it sounds so great...

Brandee | 7 comments The first chapter was phenomenal. I can't wait to read more! Would "Clap Before You Land" by Elizabeth Acevedo work for 1b? Seems to be a lot of father focus.

Great choice Stefanie! I'm updating your spreadsheet page now... Enjoy reading it!

Mel (Epic Reading) (mel-epicreading) | 97 comments I can attest that Southern Book Club for Slaying Vampires or whatever it’s long title is does meet the criteria. I read it last month (and loved it!).

Kadi - what about if someone is already a member of a secret society? I’m thinking the 3rd book in The Invisible Library series; but main character is existing member.
It’s okay if you say no I have literally dozens of others to pick including Fablehaven (which I assume meets criteria).
Thx!

Hmmm... I'd say no! They have to join the secret society during the book... just like what your character might be doing if you choose option 2! Hope that doesn't make it harder for you

Mel (Epic Reading) (mel-epicreading) | 97 comments Yep that’s fine! :)

For task 2B I was thinking about reading Aurora Rising, do you think it could work? :) Or Nevernight by Jay Kristoff, maybe?
It's such a pity that I've already started Six of Crows (and dropped it like a whole month ago and never picked it up since then XD).. I would have liked to choose it for the prompt :'(
