A triology of fantasy books for YA set in the future. I believe that at least one of the books had the word Sword in it's title. I read these books in about 1981 or 82. I can not guarantee that the third book was ever completed as my local Library at the time didn't have it (It was a rubbish library though!) No idea on the author, sorry.
The main character is a boy prince. Technology of any kind is banned as it was blamed for a cataclysmic event that separated the north and south of England. A wizard/priest type character give the boy a special sword that has been made in a lair which is actually an underground building housing vast technology hidden from everybody. In the second of the trilogy the boy and others climb the mountain range that separates the north and the south to find that the northerners still use some sort of technology. On the journey they find a long abandoned house that has the skeleton of a man sat in front of a TV, although they do not know what it is. At some point in the second book I think his elder brother I think is murdered by the wizard and eventually the boy finds out the wizard did it. . I do not know what happens in the third book as I never got to read it. I'm sorry I can't remember any more details
