I know this is more complicated than a lot of the topplers. Feel free to ask for clarification on anything you find confusing in the main thread. I check there often. I think once you get started it will be easier. :)

Trudy (trudyan) | 1779 comments Hi team! This looks like a great toppler. Off to gopher.

message 5: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19138 comments Hi team 2! You have a new player joining your team. Her name is Mary and she should be checking in soon.

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Hi team! I am off to see what Kristie posted now. ;o)
I love UNO!

Mary Shimp (meemeeshimp) | 6 comments Checking in to Team 2! I’ve never done one of these before so bear with me. Excited to try!

message 8: by Mary (new)

Mary Shimp (meemeeshimp) | 6 comments So what’s our team name, our theme? Feeling lost!

message 9: by Jannene (new)

Jannene | 3124 comments Any suggestions on the team name??

message 10: by Jannene (new)

Jannene | 3124 comments Casceil, I think we need to plan for Hand 1. Each one of us picks a task that fits for hand one and then we can move onto Hand 2.

I’ll get the spreadsheet going unless someone else on the team volunteered to be captain as well.

message 11: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Funny, but with the theme, I think Team 2 fits, but we could be Team "Trompers" or "Terrible" or "Terminators".

I have been gophering the titles for the books that I already own. I have 23 that I could read that cover a range of categories.

I have six 0s, seven 1s, two 2s, four 3s, five 4s, one 5, four 6s, no 7s, two 8s, one 9, four Skips, three Draw 2s, and one Wild Draw 4, The Art of Racing in the Rain, which can also be a 6.

I can probably read 4 books or maybe 5, depending on which ones I take (6 might be a stretch, depending on the pages). I am even willing to do the Reverse task for Hand 1 if no one else wants it.

I think the Reverse is going to be interesting to do for the first hand.

message 12: by Jannene (new)

Jannene | 3124 comments I put up the spreadsheet. I have a separate sheet for planning. I'll put down yours Cherie of the possibilities.

I have UNO Attack at home. I love how it spits out the cards to you.

message 14: by Ayacchi (new)

Ayacchi | 1722 comments I'm planning on reading some series so I might be able to read some for topplers (the less pages the better as long as it's 175s I guess). Will do proper gophering now and put the list down. Anyway I'm not good with naming and all I think is Two by Two 😂

message 15: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I might be able to come up with a 7 book. Pyramids is currently available from my library as an ebook. I cannot decide if I should borrow it now, or wait until the toppler date is closer.

message 16: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments If no one wants the Reverse for Hand One, I would really like to have it. I will listen to a book that TrudyAn recently listened to, The Last Painting of Sara de Vos.

message 17: by Ayacchi (last edited Jun 23, 2020 02:47AM) (new)

My copies of St. Clare's are all 250+ pages. Or should we follow the main page pages?

message 28: by Amanda (Mandy) (new)

Amanda (Mandy) | 762 comments Checking in. I will go through today and see which tasks I have books to fit.

message 29: by Amanda (Mandy) (new)

Amanda (Mandy) | 762 comments The spreadsheet says it is locked. I can't access it.

Just click the request access button (or something like that) and later Jannene will grant the request 👌

You are good if your copies are more pages, it is based on what you are reading.

message 32: by Jannene (new)

Jannene | 3124 comments Amanda (Mandy) wrote: "The spreadsheet says it is locked. I can't access it.”

You will have to request it since I don’t know email addresses.

Got it, thanks Jannene!

message 34: by Katrisa (last edited Jun 13, 2020 11:11AM) (new)

Katrisa | 4460 comments ok - I made some changes to my plans, since my Vampire Lestat came in from the library and it's a longer book anyway, so I am just listening to it right now. For the toppler I will start with
The War to End All Wars: World War I (Author's name starts with F for card 4)
The War to End All Wars World War I by Russell Freedman
and
Shadowfell (Title starts with S - card 6)
Shadowfell (Shadowfell, #1) by Juliet Marillier

message 35: by Trudy (new)

Trudy (trudyan) | 1779 comments Cherie wrote: "If no one wants the Reverse for Hand One, I would really like to have it. I will listen to a book that TrudyAn recently listened to, The Last Painting of Sara de Vos."

Great choice, Cherie. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

message 36: by Trudy (new)

Trudy (trudyan) | 1779 comments For hand 1, I’d like to read either
Irena's Children: The Extraordinary Story of the Woman Who Saved 2,500 Children from the Warsaw Ghetto (for card 5, I, title)
Or Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter (for card 4, F, author, Tom Franklin)

Or, if all hand 1 cards have been assigned to others, I’ll find something on hand 2.

message 37: by Jannene (new)

Jannene | 3124 comments Trudy we still need card 5 for hand 1. Do you want me to put you down?

message 38: by Trudy (new)

Trudy (trudyan) | 1779 comments Sure, I can do card 5 for hand 1.

message 39: by Ayacchi (new)

Ayacchi | 1722 comments @Jannene the sheet says that you and Cherie are planning to read the same book, or is it typo?

message 40: by Casceil (new)

Casceil | 2728 comments I have signed up for a book in Hand 2. For "9", I will read Under the Radar.

message 41: by Amanda (Mandy) (new)

Amanda (Mandy) | 762 comments The first 2 books I plan to read are:

The Night Tiger
--stand alone (zero)=hands 3,5, 7 or 8
--main character <18 yo(SKIP)=hands 3, 7 or 8

American Demon
--Author starts with "H" (Three)=hands 2,4,7, or 8
--Author starts with "K" and book 14 in series (SKIP)=hands 3. 7. or 8

I have several books that will fit hand 2 that I could change my plan up and use if need be. Just let me know.

message 42: by Jannene (new)

Jannene | 3124 comments Ayacchi wrote: "@Jannene the sheet says that you and Cherie are planning to read the same book, or is it typo?"

Not a typo, we are doing a buddy read together and it qualifies for a few cards.

That's great! At first I thought it's one book one task so I asked

message 44: by Amanda (Mandy) (new)

Amanda (Mandy) | 762 comments I signed up for the Reverse card for Hand 1. I have recently purchased the The Cruel Prince which was the monthly read last month and I believe I saw some of our team members participate in the discussion.

Katrisa | 4460 comments Ok I found a book for hand 2. I added it to the spreadsheet. I will do
Behind Closed Doors for card 1 (#1 in a series)

The hardest part was coming up with a spreadsheet to neatly organize this toppler! Thanks so much!

message 49: by Jannene (new)

Jannene | 3124 comments Mary, have you found any books that fit?

message 50: by Ayacchi (new)

Ayacchi | 1722 comments I added a book for card 8 and draw 2 for hand 3. We can exchange if anyone want to do the draw 2
