In a way, I do think they're stretching the series. Cass should just create another book series, because the Heir is supposed to be about America's daughter having to choose from a Selection. The first three books were all about America so it's a bit weird when the fourth changes the path massively.Either way I'm looking forward to it, even though I feel like she did an extraordinary end for The One.
At the end I was happy to put it down because it was amazing and I was satisfied, this kind of killed the last moments of peace I had at the end you know?

I think they are trying to drag out the series. Not that I didn't like the Selection series books already-loved them! However, now they're trying to tell the story about their daughter? Seems a bit much. I'll still read it regardless though.
The new book isn't in America's POV. Its in the POV of her daughter. Spoiler alert............ Her and Maxon have kids and the next book is set like 20 years later and America's daughter, Eadlyn, has her own reverse selection. Suitors come in and she has to pick a husband. Its more of a companion novel really.
America wanted to give Eadlyn a shot of choosing het own husband because the other option was to ship her off to another country to marry another prince. America has Eadlyn decide what she wanted to do. Eadlyn only gets the selection because she is technically older than her twin brother, Ahren.

Yeah I feel like they are stretching the series but as long as it's as good as the earlier books then I'm perfectly fine with it!

I am excited about it! There are some questions left in the book (mostly political and the aftermath of Maxon's plan of demolishing the castes) and I want another Selection! Hahaha! I just can't get enough of this series and I'm happy because there's going to be a new one.About stretching the series, I don't think so. This is a new story with new characters and like I said, I want answers to my questions. XD
Wait, if the whole point of the Selection series was to fight against thethe government and societythen why in the hell would Maxon and America still have their kids go through a selection? I might be wrong but that seems to go against everything this series was about. Like yeah America was part of the selection and she wasn't bad and all but literall why would they have a selection again and why would they nto change the entire government like they planned on! This just seems irritating and they beter have a good excuse!

I don't think that the series is being stretched. I can't wait for The Heir!!!!!!! It will be interesting to see a selection from a royal; the one doing the selecting. Especially with boys!
I think it is being stretched, but I cannot wait to read the books! But I don't think they should've, but it's sort of like fanfiction, only the author is doing it her way. Kind of special and neat and one of a kind.
no I don't think so because this story isn't about maxon an America but there daughters an I think its cool a girl gets to choose now more exciting

I'm excited, I really enjoyed the concept of these books! It was like the bachelor meets divergent. I'm hoping America's daughter isn't like her mother. America tended to annoy me sometimes. She was so into herself that she didn't see what was going on around her. Especially in the second book.
Also it will be cool to see a variety of swoon worthy guys for the princess to choose from and to see it from the possible heirs stand point.
Yep. Shoulda just left it at 3 books. The Heir could've simply been a novella. No need for any more.
I have read the new book, The Heir, and I loved it. It is about America and Maxon's daughter being forced to go through a Selection but she makes it her own way
