Need help finding an IR book. Please help.

I know the story revolves around russian man and black woman who happen to be ice skaters. Not sure if olympic skaters but definitely on the professional circuit. They have some history since childhood. H has accent. There is age difference I think. H is very reserved but in the flashback the h tries to befriend him hence the history? There is some friction/fight/misunderstanding leading them to be enemies. But present day H approaches h's coach to pair up on the professional circuit I think?
So after all this bloody detail I still have no idea who wrote this friggin thing! 😁 Please help.
