Leana (Flickering Fandom) (flickeringfandom) | 264 comments Hi Cat, I’m on my phone so can’t see tags but I think The Poppy War should be tagged. Kuang is Chinese-American and it’s one of my favourite books - you could use it for R, K or N for character names.

I’ve also read and enjoyed Wicked Fox by Kat Cho, Shadow of the Fox by Julie Kagawa and Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh. I haven’t read Ash by Malinda Lo but it should count and I’ve loved everything else I’ve read by her.

If you want non fiction I’ve enjoyed The Girl with Seven Names by Hyeonseo Lee or In Order to Live by Yeonmi Park.

Sorry for the lack of links but hope something there might help!

I would recommend the Ghost Bride! Im not sure if it is tagged as Asia but it took place entirely in Asia. I had to read it for one of my classes this summer and i thought it was really good!

Rebecca (radf) | 1087 comments The Kevin Kwan books-Crazy Rich Asians series is definitely tagged Asia. I thoroughly enjoyed all 3 of them

No, the 3 that I am reading are on there. That must have been from when things were being moved around.

I will be finishing these today or tomorrow afternoon at the latest:
Mr. Lemoncello's Library Olympics
Mr. Monster
Dear Martin

We are near the end of this round so I am not going to start another book for this word. Sorry, but I just couldn't bear to read Under the Tuscan Sun any longer.

I'll move it for round 4... Sorry.

message 421: by Donna (new)

Donna (dkflynn33) | 2715 comments Go ahead and move it. I will attempt to read some smaller books tonight to make up for the 2 U books moved.

message 429: by Leana (new)

Leana (Flickering Fandom) (flickeringfandom) | 264 comments Updated the SS with books I finished over the last couple of days while I was away (Peace Talks, New York to Dallas, Sisters of Sword and Song). I'm currently reading The Lightning Thief but I don't know if I'll manage to get it finished in time for this round. It could count towards a U I think though (character surname, Grover Underwood) so am I right in thinking it'd be helpful if I could? haha.

Yes. If its possible to finish that book it would be super helpful. But if its not possible to do in time, no worries :)

Tammie | 4553 comments Hey everyone....a few 'task' reminders

1) remember you can only use the items on your task list once...so heavy readers especially...be sure you've kept track of what you've used.

2) I know I'd love to use a few more of the 'what books your team' would recommend. If you have any books that you've loved since you started the challenge or if you have addl books you could recommend, please leave them in our thread for potentials. Donna recommended Morganville Vamp Series to me, and I've been reading it ...using up those tasks saving others for the last round :)

I am going to find it harder to find items on the task list as we move on. I will look to recommendations more! Following are some more from me:

The Green Mile - I loved this Stephen King book. My husband is reading it now.
The Outsiders - a classic
The Roanoke Girls
If I Stay - an interesting YA book
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
The Silver Linings Playbook
The Time Traveler's Wife

Tammie | 4553 comments I'll recommend anything on my Favorites List -> https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...

Any book by J.R. Ward, Nora Roberts, Kristen Ashley, Linda Howard

Post 402-> https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

message 436: by Keli (new)

Keli | 1319 comments Since we've got Asia as a tag again I'll recommend some of those that I've read Nothing to Envy: Ordinary Lives in North Korea. It's harrowing and heartbreaking at times. But so interesting.
Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress is a short read. I gave it three stars. Interesting but a bit slow. But if you love historical fiction, then you'll probably like it more than me.
I recently listened to The White Tiger. I can't recommend this enough especially if you listen to it.
Life of Pi is a tricky book. I absolutely recommend it for the last two-thirds. Once the boat goes down it gets good. But that first third literally took me a year to get through. At the end I saw why the author felt it necessary to write that dreadfully boring beginning, but he could've done it better. Or made it shorter.
For fantasy, my fave genre, I'd recommend Cinder, Across the Nightingale Floor and Naamah's Curse are all good.

I want to note that the majority of you went over your book averages so congratulations on that. You all did a great job!!

**Please remember to add your books to your shelves and mark them as read. We had 2 books this time that didn't get submitted and 1 last time due to books not being shelved. We can't carry them over to the next round so those 3 books are lost. **

Again, you guys did an awesome job. Keep it up!!
