Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother
Secret Daughter ?
The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane
And the Mountains Echoed - anything from this author
Hi Cat!I would recommend the Ghost Bride! Im not sure if it is tagged as Asia but it took place entirely in Asia. I had to read it for one of my classes this summer and i thought it was really good!
The Kevin Kwan books-Crazy Rich Asians series is definitely tagged Asia. I thoroughly enjoyed all 3 of them
@Stacey...please double check for the correct version you read...Fragile...you have listed as 496 pgs but a different version is shelved. Thanks!
Tammie wrote: "@Stacey...please double check for the correct version you read...Fragile...you have listed as 496 pgs but a different version is shelved. Thanks!"Sorry -- the default version has 496, but I read a different one. I'll change it when I get home.

Fixed. And just FYI, I'll probably be running right up to deadline to finish my last Z, but should be done by early Friday afternoon.
Ashlee, are you reading a book for the N slot or did you remove one from there and just left your name?
I got a computer again/ Mine crashed about 2 weeks ago and I felt so cut off but I got one now and now I can do what I'm supposed to.
Donna wrote: "Ashlee, are you reading a book for the N slot or did you remove one from there and just left your name?"No, the 3 that I am reading are on there. That must have been from when things were being moved around.
I will be finishing these today or tomorrow afternoon at the latest:
Mr. Lemoncello's Library Olympics
Mr. Monster
Dear Martin
I had to remove one of the U’s I was reading because of how boring it was to me. It was on line 71. We are near the end of this round so I am not going to start another book for this word. Sorry, but I just couldn't bear to read Under the Tuscan Sun any longer.
Bernadette wrote: "I had to remove one of the U’s I was reading because of how boring it was to me. It was on line 71. We are near the end of this round so I am not going to start another book for this word. Sorry, b..."No worries Bernadette! Thanks for informing us
I have 2 books that I could push to finish by tomorrow if needed...for now, I'm going to put them on the next list.
I still have my last book, an N, to finish. I'll get it done but it'll be about 3 est. I've got about 5 hours left but I've got to go to bed.
I'm sorry, but there's no way I'll be able to finish Unthinkable for U, in time for this round.I'll move it for round 4... Sorry.
Go ahead and move it. I will attempt to read some smaller books tonight to make up for the 2 U books moved.
Bernadette, I found The One-in-a-Million Boy on your shelf but don't see it on our spreadsheet. Does it fit any of the letters?
Donna wrote: "Bernadette, I found The One-in-a-Million Boy on your shelf but don't see it on our spreadsheet. Does it fit any of the letters?"It is on Line 85

I found it. My first search didn't find it but thank you!
Donna wrote: "Those of you reading for the letter N. Will you be able to finish those books?"I have another book i can finish tomorrow. Its only 180 or so pages and the author's last name will work for the letter N if needed

Updated the SS with books I finished over the last couple of days while I was away (Peace Talks, New York to Dallas, Sisters of Sword and Song). I'm currently reading The Lightning Thief but I don't know if I'll manage to get it finished in time for this round. It could count towards a U I think though (character surname, Grover Underwood) so am I right in thinking it'd be helpful if I could? haha.
Faith wrote: "Updated the SS with books I finished over the last couple of days while I was away (Peace Talks, New York to Dallas, Sisters of Sword and Song). I'm ..."Yes. If its possible to finish that book it would be super helpful. But if its not possible to do in time, no worries :)
Hey everyone....a few 'task' reminders1) remember you can only use the items on your task list once...so heavy readers especially...be sure you've kept track of what you've used.
2) I know I'd love to use a few more of the 'what books your team' would recommend. If you have any books that you've loved since you started the challenge or if you have addl books you could recommend, please leave them in our thread for potentials. Donna recommended Morganville Vamp Series to me, and I've been reading it ...using up those tasks saving others for the last round :)

I am going to find it harder to find items on the task list as we move on. I will look to recommendations more! Following are some more from me:
The Green Mile - I loved this Stephen King book. My husband is reading it now.
The Outsiders - a classic
The Roanoke Girls
If I Stay - an interesting YA book
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
The Silver Linings Playbook
The Time Traveler's Wife
I'll recommend anything on my Favorites List -> https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...Any book by J.R. Ward, Nora Roberts, Kristen Ashley, Linda Howard

Since we've got Asia as a tag again I'll recommend some of those that I've read Nothing to Envy: Ordinary Lives in North Korea. It's harrowing and heartbreaking at times. But so interesting.Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress is a short read. I gave it three stars. Interesting but a bit slow. But if you love historical fiction, then you'll probably like it more than me.
I recently listened to The White Tiger. I can't recommend this enough especially if you listen to it.
Life of Pi is a tricky book. I absolutely recommend it for the last two-thirds. Once the boat goes down it gets good. But that first third literally took me a year to get through. At the end I saw why the author felt it necessary to write that dreadfully boring beginning, but he could've done it better. Or made it shorter.
For fantasy, my fave genre, I'd recommend Cinder, Across the Nightingale Floor and Naamah's Curse are all good.
Sadie, I'm dropping in from team Pants to say I just finished the All Souls Trilogy fabulous recommendations! Thank you!
I'm going to listen to Time's Convert next.
I just updated the ss and my shelf with my last book. Hopefully I've got everything taken care of. I'm leaving for work in 5 min so if you need to get me just send/post a message and I'll try to check.
Sadie wrote: "Laura, glad you liked it!! One of my favorites ^_^Team, I finished Dear Martin!"
Don't forget to update your shelf & the spreadsheet.

I want to note that the majority of you went over your book averages so congratulations on that. You all did a great job!!
**Please remember to add your books to your shelves and mark them as read. We had 2 books this time that didn't get submitted and 1 last time due to books not being shelved. We can't carry them over to the next round so those 3 books are lost. **
Again, you guys did an awesome job. Keep it up!!
Just to be sure. I get that we can't use the same task # twice, but there are multiple times the same task (example: Recommended by a different team). So can we use the same task twice if it's a different #? (Am I clear?)

I’ve also read and enjoyed Wicked Fox by Kat Cho, Shadow of the Fox by Julie Kagawa and Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh. I haven’t read Ash by Malinda Lo but it should count and I’ve loved everything else I’ve read by her.
If you want non fiction I’ve enjoyed The Girl with Seven Names by Hyeonseo Lee or In Order to Live by Yeonmi Park.
Sorry for the lack of links but hope something there might help!
