I finished Year One this morning so I've added it to the round 2 spreadsheet. I haven't put my next books on because I have a few things on the go and am not sure what I'll finish first.

I was able to get a copy of The Sun Down Motel from the Library 📚 today. It will nice to read a real book 📖 again. I’ve been reading ebooks for the last few months. Oh...and I got to the nail salon today!

Glad you were able to get your nails done. I’m going to get my hair “did” tomorrow. I seriously cannot wait!

And if he can't be away from work for that long, he pauses it and finishes it throughout the day.
I've finished Inside the Hotel Rwanda: The Surprising True Story ... and Why It Matters Today and have updated it on the SS :) I'm hoping to start on the next book tomorrow.
Captains: Are we allowed to use The Sun Down Motel for Task 11: Read a book set in a hotel? Cause technically its a motel.....Yay Tammie for getting questions for this one!

I don't think it would be frowned on to do so, but it works for lots others. I guess it depends on how much of the book is spent 'at the motel'.
I'm using...20 Read a book recommended by someone in a different team...Rec by The Motorcycle Diaries
I think there are 4 chances for recommendations so I went with that.

At least half of it is at the motel so far... but I'll put it somewhere else.
Did anyone else get a little teary at Five Feet Apart? I'm feeling a bit more emotional at this time of the month, but I really had to try and not cry at certain points.
Keli wrote: "Did anyone else get a little teary at Five Feet Apart? I'm feeling a bit more emotional at this time of the month, but I really had to try and not cry at certain points."I definitely did. Felt pretty sad too.

Hello, dropping in from team Fridge for some recommendations for Fantasy (Epic/High/Dark) and Space Opera. If you have any please?Thank you!

- the Books of the Raksura series, starting with The Cloud Roads
- anything by N.K. Jemisin because she is a genius
- the Deeds of Paksenarrion series, starting with Sheepfarmer's Daughter
- Dragon Pearl
- the Thrawn Trilogy, starting with Heir to the Empire (Star Wars is quintessential space opera and this is prob the best series that captures that vibe and is easy to get into if you haven't already read SW)
- Manifold Worlds series, starting with An Accident of Stars

The Left Hand of Darkness is one of my favourites. The Price of the Stars and Fortune's Pawn are good space operas.
Well ill be on the road for the next 16 or so hours. Planning on listening to audiobooks throughout the drive :)

I hope USA teamies are enjoying a nice 4th of July weekend! FYI to all reading Nora Roberts...I just noticed the Hobbit Team has everything 'Nora Roberts' listed on their list of Recs. If you need to free up some more specific tasks for later a nice way to do that. Cassandra Clare is also listed.
****************************************************************@ALL
If everyone could do a dbl check of the SS and make sure that the 1st item noted in column Y is the 'task' justification. If you haven't listed, captains will have to go and look up what you've chosen.
As of 5:pm today central us time, we have 4 days remaining...
https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown...
...so if you can begin finalizing your reads for this week and remove what you know you won't finish...that would be great. We'll begin moving books to the main SS very soon!
Would
fit for task 180: Read a book with a shellfish on the cover?I mean, there's 🐙 octapus legs on the cover... Is an octapus considered shellfish?!
Vivi wrote: "Would

Shellfish have to have some kind of exoskeleton - that's why they're "shell"fish. So crabs, mussels, shrimp, scallops, etc. are shellfish but octopi are soft-bodied and so wouldn't be considered shellfish.

Okay, thanks for explaining. I'll use it for another task then... ☺️
I added 2 finished books to the spreadsheet. I will finish another today. I am going to try my hardest to finish the BOM by Friday, as I don't think that it will fit any of the letters in our new word.
New word: PUB QUIZZING

Wow. It's hard for me to imagine a harder group of letters in a word. I don't even know what that is?

That does seem like a tough word. I think Pub Quizzing is probably like Quizzo, just my guess.😊

I started to enter books into the SS and noticed that we have a lot of shelved books with no page counts. These will get flagged. I need all of you to check that you have the correct version of your book with a page count. If you need a page count updated, please go to the Librarian group to get it updated. This may take a day so you might want to do it soon.
I will check back later to continue entering books. Hopefully some of them will be updated by then.

Donna, does this mean if I listened to an Audiobook I should not shelve the Audiobook because it has no page count listed?
Tammie wrote: "Geesh....we’re going to need to be deliberate with those Qs...we can do it!"I have 3 "Q" books already. I think I will have trouble with "Z"!
Bernadette wrote: "Tammie wrote: "Geesh....we’re going to need to be deliberate with those Qs...we can do it!"I have 3 "Q" books already. I think I will have trouble with "Z"!"
I’ll have Zs I’m sure...there will be more of those than we realize...Mariana Zapata...I think I have at least 1...going to dbl check...but if narrators are allowed...I’ll do audio with Zachary Webber:) ...off checking
Yeah!
If you are listening to an audiobook, the first letter in the narrator's first or last name also can be used. We're also allowing for Translators names, as long as the edition you are reading is a translation version.
Bernadette, Audiobooks are slightly different. We use the default page count but link the audio book on your shelf. I came across Kindle books with no page counts. Just mark your book audio (I think you already have been) in the SS and I will know to check the default pg count.

I've been saving my Zs, so I can help with those... I just wasn't expecting P, B, Q, U, and I all at the same time. :)
Anyone know anything about The Woman Who Would Be King: Hatshepsut's Rise to Power in Ancient Egypt? It is in the SS with nothing else. I don't know if it is read, currently being read or who is reading it.
I’ll update the spreadsheet in a bit. I started back at work this week and it’s been a challenge. Also, I have 6-P books from the library. I don’t know how that happened but good timing!
Updated the spreadsheet and I started The Sun Down Motel. I'm hoping to have it read and the questions completed by tomorrow at the latest. I'm off today and plan on spending the majority of the day reading and trying to de-stress ;D
FINALLY finished a book - sorry I've been so absent, I think the end of term is really just catching up with me now, can't wait until school finishes and a bit of a break!Good spot Tammie on the Nora Roberts thing, meant I could change which task I put Of Blood and Bone down for when I finally finished it today!

Just added next round's tag lists to our SShttps://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...
Our luck...Dear Martin next BOM is tagged racism x96 :)
@Lauren please dbl check your page counts...I aligned the links with the page count you recorded...just want to be sure the books you shelved are actually the version you read. Please chg the page counts/links as needed. @Faith Of Blood and Bone is not on your shelf yet
@Shannon - Please assign a task to Merciless
Thanks

I remember having to fight with Goodreads to get the right edition to show up, so that's probably why my link didn't match my page count. I must have added the link before I fixed the right edition. I also added Cold Fire to my shelf. I went through all my books and I'm pretty sure I have everything fixed, but let me know if I missed something else.
****************** Tomorrow is the end of Round 2! *******************Countdown -> https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown...
I'm guessing we'll finish our final entries early in the afternoon...so please have everything entered by noonish tomorrow!
If you haven't or can't finish a book...it can carry over to the next round...THE NEXT ROUND IS TOUGH though...we'll need to be a bit more deliberate with choosing books as...PUB QUIZZING...only Ix2 and U for vowels, P, Q, Zx2...it's going to be interesting!
It's likely to be more difficult to move things around too :)
Note: Team Hobbit did have PUB QUIZZING in Round 1. If you want to check out their SS for books on your tbr...!https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...
