If you haven't done it before, it will take just a minute to figure it all out, and then the crazy takes over!

My favorite genres are classics, dystopian/post-apocalyptic, suspense, high fantasy, science fiction, graphic design/art history, and history. I don't care for mysteries, romance, or YA in general.
I have a lot of books I'm raring to read that should fit the tasks nicely.
Looking forward to it! Cheers

I hope you have lots of fun....but if you're like the rest of us, you will probably get addicted to the challenge thing!

Letitia, yes a book that in round 1's case uses a letter from backpacking. If the book also has one of the tags listed, and/or fulfills a task from the list of tasks, then it gets extra points.
...runs back to the quidditch pitch...

We have several first time Wheel players, so don't feel alone! I haven't played this game before either! I hope you have fun playing! Ask anything you want!

track I am afraid.
You can message me or we would always be happy to see you on our team page - Team "round Ireland with a fridge"
anyone wanting a book recc from me try
Hideaway Ella Minnow Pea: A Novel in Letters The Giver of Stars or The Great Alone

I am in a couple team challenges in other groups so I am reading a variety of books right now!
I have 4 fur children who are the light of my life and I guess I should include hubby in that description also!
This is my first wheel challenge

Welcome to our roadtrip lounge! Lol! I bet switching to virtual teaching was a bit challenging!
You aren't late at all!! The challenge itself doesn't start until June 12th. We are just hanging out and getting to know each other a bit.
Looking forward to 'traveling' with you!

Here are 5 of my favorite books along the genres you listed that I don't see on your read shelf already:
Far From the Madding Crowd
Code Name Verity
West with the Night
HHhH
The Glass Hotel
Hopefully I did that right. I'm a challenge newbie :P
Thank you for the recommendations! :)

I tried to have my team's name be My Broom Chafes. Sadly, it came in third in the voting.

Oh no, Anna! We're going to have to put you two on separate sides of the road trip vehicle. Hang on to that broom!! Good luck!

Oh okay, I'll do that next time. Thank you! :)

Celia - You can make a copy of your post and post it on the Around Ireland with a Fridge team thread. If you'd like, if not, I'll make one.
I just didn't know if Marie would venture back over this way to see your recommendations.

I understand we need to spell our word. But I do not get how this bonus works:
“ ◈ The team will get an extra 15 completion points if all the letters in the word are part of their spell-it-out”
And I did go ahead and post my recs in the Round Ireland with a Fridge team’s thread. :)

We can spell out our word as many times as we can during the 2 week round. The first time we completely spell out the word, we get that completion bonus - but only on the first time the word is completed.
Does that help?

I am a little glad it ended tonight, so I can get stuff done tomorrow.
Sleep well!

thanks Celia and thanks for dropping into Ireland's Fridge

Angie has been working on the team tracking spreadsheet, which will linked here soon. Then you all can start grabbing letters and planning out your books. If you are planners. teehee
Off for some much needed coffee.

Everyone can do any of the tasks, but can only do each one one time throughout the entire challenge, so everyone has a column on the task tab and we can check/mark the ones that are used. Also, I sorted the tasks by type on one sheet to make it easier to see search.
Let me know if you have any questions. I think everyone will be able to edit - if not, let me know.

The fact that our team is all here and checked in is fabulous. That bodes well for us.
Take the week to start searching your shelves for books that fit. tasks that you want to search for, tagged books that you want to try. Have fun with it.
I actually started looking through the genre tags that I linked above, and ordered a book that I didn't even know existed from one of my favorite authors. Out of print paperback on its way to me as we speak. An Infinite Summer, from the guy that wrote The Prestige. So, I found one for hallucinogenic already!

I encourage everyone to pick one letter / book as we all have to read at least one book every round.
If you are a planner - pick a letter in the first word layout and then pick as many more as you want to read in the other word layouts. That will help us "non-planners" choose our books to complete the most words!

Celia, did you try the one I linked here - Post #8 or the Official Team one in Post #2? The one I posted is showing "no sign-ins required", as long as you have a link to it.
