Welcome once again ladies and gentlemen aboard the Hogwarts Express. We will be taking the very scenic route to Hogwarts, so please ensure you are comfortable, and all luggage is stowed away safely in the luggage racks or overhead compartments.
Our refreshment trolley, which stocks a wide assortment of interesting treats, from chocolate frogs and cauldron cakes to Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans, will be passing through soon, or you can make your way to the buffet cart for a delicious hot
As your self-appointed tour-guide, I will now point out to you the sights as we pass them, so if you will all look out of the window to the left...
You will see nothing on the right.
Ba-boom-tish.
Thank you, I'll be here all week.
Ok, ok, the actual sights. yes. Well, as you can see now that we've pulled out of the station, we are of course in London. First up is the iconic sight of Big Ben. This imposing tower has been a familiar sight and a well-loved British institution for many years, recognised by people across the globe, and featured in many movies and tv shows, both domestic and abroad.

Next up you will see the Hammersmith Apollo. A familiar sight for those who love to see a good show, note the impressive structural integrity. This is one landmark that will not fall down in a hurry.

That concludes the London part of the tour. I will be back to point out more of the sights as we make our way north. I hope you all have a pleasant evening, and enjoy your books!

I vote for the Duct Tape, BUT only if the rest of us get pictures and can chuckle at them.

Someone hold onto my legs while I lean out the window and grab that towel.

Though with sights like these, can we stick around London a bit longer? Or slow down the train perhaps? ;)

I second that!

I have a book - The Orchid Hunter - which has Nature>Plants as an MPG but when you click on the 'top shelves' link plants is listed but not Nature. So can I get credit for the Nature tag for this book?

I don't believe it would work Lind. The rules state that the tag has to be exact

Oh, big Ben! I just
WOW!

I put them in a few more groups and did weird OCD things like put series # in order, color in order, MPG in alphabetical order...lol
I also have it totaling the 'X' I mark as I'm deciding.
I figure I will probably make a final decision towards the end of each two week period where I really want to place a book for a task. So I can keep track of what each book is offering and once I decide I can mark a task as used. (Hide, strike-through, delete). As I will just reset my book columns each fortnight.

Ah, this makes my persnickety self very happy. I wasn't sure if it was okay for me to do it this way and change the way things were laid out - but now I'm going to be having a field day with this. Thanks, Plethora! :D

Don't worry, we're taking a very scenic route to Hogwarts ;)

Looking good!

Unfortunately the house is awake now, so switching to my audio book :)

I copied one over for you, so you can now find a tab labeled Linda's Task.

Now I'm looking at my colouring pencils and mulling over if I pick up another kindle, or switch to an audio.... decisions decisions.

Not sure. will take a closer look in a bit to see if I can figure it out.

For cover colors, is the limit for the color to be 50% or more per TinyEye?"
Good question. Let me see if i can find out. I finished my first book which is 67.6% black cover so I think that may work. I'm guessing 50% or more would be good.

We can also use judgment of the team if it is one of the crazy books that everybody thinks looks one color but TinEye says it is something else.

ETA: I saw that date read sign column on the spread sheet, so I did put my finish date on there.

Thanks I got so busy with the kids that I forgot to come back.

Normally I type the book name into the "search books" search bar and use the book it defaults to.
Is that the correct tactic?
Because I know it is not always the highest page count. So wanted to be sure.

Yes, that's correct

I did not see it in the rules, but have to be honest that I was being too lasy to look thru all 7 pages of the thread. 🙄😒😏🙃

If so, WHO?
Because you totally rock!!!!!!!

I'll make me a copy as well, with your permission. Thank you!! :)

(I strongly suspect we will have us some stowaways on board for this stop)

I can also tell you that there are some most excellent audio books to be found around here... most notably David Copperfield, Lords of the North or even Classic Love Poems for those in the mood to swoon...
I wonder where we might be headed next..?

Someone beat me to it, which is good because I originally thought I would have today off all my jobs, but no. I worked after all.
I did rename it Book Recs to make it easier to find.

Ok, sounds good Plethora, and thanks for the rename.
Still would like to thank whoever, because that seems like a lot of work.

We've taken a short stop from riding our motorbikes to send you some recommendations from our team. Take a look to see what books we recommend to you guys!
If you do happen to read one of the books, we'd love you to drop by and share your thoughts with the team.

Hello Sammy and Team Deathly Hallows! :)
~SWOOOOOOONNNNNN...
Thank you so much for jumping on the Orient Express and let us know!
I hope the Hogwarts and Orient Expresses will meet again soon.

In other news, just finished Swan Song and it was sooooo good. Adding it to the recs! lol.

Sorry Cappie/Co-Cappie's, didn't mean to step on anyone's shoes, just wanted to get a cohesive idea as to what book are being recommended instead of opening multiple tabs.
