Plethora (bookworm_r) | 2239 comments I'm reading The Book of Lost Names and the MC girl is driving me a little batty! Although I do know that she turns the corner and I can get on board with her, but right now you just want to knock knock on her head.

Rokkan (rokk) | 191 comments The author of one of the books I'm reading just 'killed off' one of my favourite characters. I use quote marks because there's no body yet.

I've had a few books where that's happened recently. Grrrrr...

Hope the "body" turns up alive and well! :)

Don't make me bring out the scary!!!

Although.... my cousin's other half tagged me the other day on facebook with this picture:

He's lucky I can't travel to the UK right now... just saying

(That and that he's actually a very BIG truck driver, that makes me feel tiny in comparison)

begrudgingly, mind you

Lucky,

I have none of it.

Actually, I have reached the point where my tasks don't fit my books... and I'm a moody reader, I can't force myself to read a book - I tried on the past, the results are not pretty.

Anyway... at least this one has stripes and stars.

I'm also realizing, there is not enough L's on our word for the amount of L's I'm finding.

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12882 comments Also, The tiniest I ever felt was about 12 years ago, when I met Richard Kiel (Jaws from James Bond). He was not only over 7 foot tall, but his hands were bigger than my head! lol.
But he was the sweetest guy. Just a giant teddy bear :)

I'm certain we can find plenty of creative ways to make them fit ;)

I thought it amusing, since I didn't read a single one of them because of Morris Dancing, yet it keeps turning up! synchronicity at its finest, lol.

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12882 comments Good news team! I went through the list of books tagged "winter", and found three on the planning sheet that are also tagged ( both HP and Ninth House), which will bump us up to the full 10 tags if all planned tags are read. :D

I have two filled in for "L" if you need to move stuff. The Lemon Sisters I believe fits a bunch of places, and the Eve Langlais book could easily be moved from "L" to "E" but it is a bit more limited.

Well, my plan was to read the world of the lupi series. The MC is named Lily Yu, Plus it has an E author, and a couple more letters from minor characters.

That was the plan. Until I remembered the Ella Frank book. And then I wanted more Ella Frank. And after that I realized the series that I plowed through one year ago, was releasing it's spin-off this week. And after reading it, I *HAD* to re-read the #2 from the original series because I was missing Red and Laz. And after that I couldn't stop but reading the rest.... and now I'm reading #4 (the last one) and feeling guilty for having skipped #1. So I am not sure what will happen later tonight when I finish King and Leo's story.

I'm rambling as much as Leo does. And work is calling my name.... again...

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 949 comments Sonia,
Ok!
Wow!
I think I followed most of that.
But anyhow.... was just offering.
lol!
😉🤓

message 1223: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Yeah, I'm hard to follow when I unleash my brain without filtering it first.

My associations/connections work funny.

Then I look around and people are staring at me like I'm talking in a foreign language or something....

Nope, I'm not a genius... just weird.

LOL

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments And thanks for offering. Our caps will work it out, don't worry. We have a whole week ahead for pieces to fall together.

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12882 comments Good evening ladies and gents. Sorry about the delay (the driver fell asleep... Happens to us all, lol), but we have finally arrived in Kentucky. Known for its chicken and its Derby, there are other things to see there besides horses, it seems...

And because we're so close, we're going to swing by Tennessee too. Of course we know it as the home of country music, and of certain brands of whiskey...

Hopefully tomorrow we will find out who has a Sweet home in Alabama!

message 1229: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12882 comments Shhhh... I think everyone's sleeping... ;)

getting back on schedule, we're just pulling in to Alabama, also known as the Heart of Dixie, which is the state mentioned in a song with one of the catchiest guitar riffs ever...

I wonder what else we'll see while we're here...

Tell you what... The temperatures down here are getting pretty high!

Enjoy the rest of your day people. Hope you're all enjoying your books!

☼♎ Carmen the Bootyshaker Temptress ☼♎ | 7238 comments Oh my,my,my. I hopped on my tablet at the right time. Some yum here. Sammy you made my night. Now if I fall asleep I will have such sweet, yummy dreams. Oh wait I'm supposed to be reading. LOL 😉

message 1231: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12882 comments Ah you are very welcome. Just think of it as a visual aid. Just super-impose above images over mental image of a character, and you'll enjoy the book even more, lol.

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments I guess now is the time I should confess I never watched Magic Mike.

I know I know... the shame.

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 949 comments Sonia wrote: "I guess now is the time I should confess I never watched Magic Mike.

It is not a shame, it just is what it is.
Besides you can oggle the men in stills better than in the movie.

message 1234: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments True.

Although, I did see the raining men scene and subsequent shows a couple I mean a few okay... I saw it. No need to count the times

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 949 comments lol!

Ok, see!
😁😎

message 1236: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12882 comments Lol!

I have to admit I've seen both movies. Was only going to watch a few minutes of the second one, because on the one hand, yummy, on the other hand, the first movie wasn't very good. But the second turned out to actually not be as terrible as I feared it would be. In fact, I'd even go so far as to say it was pretty good!

And spending a couple of hours staring at Matt Bomer is always a worthwhile way to pass the time...

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 949 comments Yes, Matt is very easy on the eyes.
I loves watching him in White Collar. He was yummy in those suits and the hat..... Oh my!

Agreed. Man can really wear a suit.

I logged on to GR to update my books. Now I've fallen into the Youtube black hole watching Magic Mike clips.

I can live with that...

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 949 comments Oh no!
Not that black hole! It could be days before you find a way out.

message 1241: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments NO NO NO... that's worse than me being stuck into L only books.

Did I mention that I ended up re-reading the whole King Security series, and since I started at #2, I had to read the first 2 chapters and epilogue of the previous 3 to be happy. And then re-read the book I read back on wednesday for my brain to allow me to move on?

Talking about stuck in a black hole vortex.

message 1242: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12882 comments Lol! And here was me being pleased I finally managed to plow through The Bear and the Nightingale...

message 1243: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12882 comments All right you lot... The next word is out! nice and early. And we're... Pub Quizzing!

Our tags are: Insects, Creepy, Racism, Wings, Twilight

I'm gonna be claiming 2 or 3 Qs, and I believe between Sonia and whomever she can convince to read Ty & Zane with her, we're not gonna be short on Z books! lol.

message 1244: by Sammy (new)

message 1247: by Sammy (last edited Aug 03, 2020 03:32AM) (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12882 comments I'm definitely readingPhineas Finn and Ill Met in the Arena for Q, and there will be a third once I remember which book it was that had a Q in (apart from Kushiel series. much as I love them, I only just read 'em again, lol)

ETA: I remembered! The Old Curiosity Shop! :)

message 1248: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Too bad Alison's library doesn't have the Ward Security books... Quinn appears on all the books.

Not to mention Ian in the rest of the Unbreakable bonds...

I pretty much think whoever invented the 6 month re-reads rule had me in mind. Pretty sure.

message 1249: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments okay so.... task wise, Fish & Chips is set on a cruise (and one of my favs), Part & Parcel is a road trip (and a *very* quick read)
Ball & Chain is set on an island near Scotland
Stars & Stripes has stripes on the cover... although I think I already had that one covered

And it has been a while since I felt like my heart is being ripped from my chest, so... I might throw my favorite in there... just because I can.

That will cover....5 Zs
