Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Finished Familiar Beginnings, and that's my last book for this round.

I'm also not going to read Broken Warrior... already took it from spreadsheet... sure, I could read it for next one, but I am not feeling it.

Gonna look at YODELLING and see what else I can start. Probably.

Good! I need the water to cool off, because once again it is just way too hot in here!
Off for a dip in on of those lakes.

We'll probably will need a Goodreads librarian because it has no page number yet. I'll wait till tomorrow and let you know if needed

Was it as good as you'd hoped?

message 1179: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Yes. And sweet. And it also ended in a cliffhanger, with a touch of angts. Nothing bad about it till I remember that next one is not out yet.

*pouts*

Wow that is a really productive day. I'm finishing up with one now. I didn't get much reading in earlier but that's ok since I read most of the book late last night. I had everyone in bed and stayed up and finished my long book and then started the next :)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12885 comments Good evening ladies and gentlemen, we hope you're all comfortable and enjoying your trip so far. just a reminder that our buffet cart is fully stocked, but you may need to just help yourself because I think Sonia has... erm... detained the waiter...

I know there have been some comments about the high temperatures on board, and I beg you to bear with us while we continue to investigate this. I have to warn you though, that temperatures are likely to rise further now that we have officially crossed into the south.

First stop is Virginia, a state that has both a beautiful coastline, and rugged mountains.

Although if beaches are your thing, you could of course do worse than a trip to Florida...

Next up, join us to see what Kentucky has to offer us besides fried chicken... ;)

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 949 comments Oh nice!
Young and steamy, then mature, a bit more rugged, but still HOT!

message 1186: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Okay.... so... I didn't read much during the weekend... sunday was spent making some homemade tomato sauce and cleaning and dicing vegetables to freeze.

Anywoo.... since Monday I basically have been getting solace in books aka reading like a banshee and managed to start and finish 5 books. Sure, they're small like 200-300 pages. But that's a lot of books.

I haven't thought on tasks, because I'm in one of those moods... so, eventually I'll do it.

Can anyone, please remind me in a couple of days, in case I forget? Thanks.

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12885 comments Wow! That's some serious reading Sonia! Makes up for me failing miserably to read much today. Having trouble getting into The Bear and the Nightingale. I'm sure it will pick up, but finding it a bit of a slog in the meantime.

Hope things go better for you soon too Sarah!

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 2239 comments I wish this weeks word had a few more letters. Seems like so little options for some of my books, I've passed on reading a few because I couldn't tell easily that they would have a character that would work if series, author, title wasn't a go.

I have also set a few aside for the week after next.
🤞🤞Fingers crossed we will have a nice veriety then.

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12885 comments I'm still hoping for those Q/z words! lol.

"zoom calls" would be a hard one in tems of how few letters there are, but at least there's a A and S, which show up in practically everything, lol.

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 949 comments Sammy wrote: "I'm still hoping for those Q/z words! lol.

Yeah, and I seem to find many M and L ones also. It would likely be the O causing me issues with that one.

message 1194: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Omigosh the first book in Kings: Wild Cards was so good. Really what I needed.

So, of course, even if I started the new VRC, I had to put it on hold (why let a good V go to waste, right?) I was hit with a desire to re-read the whole Kings Security series again. I started book #2, because I was missing Red & Laz big time... but I'm starting to have second thoughts about it.

So yeah... I think I'll be reading those for a bit... it helps they have E, and L and even G.

We can always count on you to find the awkward letters. It would probably be a really good marketing strategy for KU authors to advertise their books by saying how many awkward letter characters they have used, lol.

message 1197: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12885 comments Found a couple of Is and a Y, so just a G now, and we have all the letters to choose from again for the next word ;)

Will be reading quite a few more books this round, but they're much shorter than my usual...

message 1198: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments You can swap my last book for G.

This one I'm reading is another L.

Lol

message 1199: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12885 comments Awesome!

And I now have 2 Q books I don't want to waste on other letters... If we don't get a Q word next, I may scream, lol.
