message 1104: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments I think the wheel spin gods are conspiring about the Ty&Zane read I would certainly have all teams doing.

LOL

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12884 comments And The Shining! Score!

message 1111: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12884 comments The Shining by Stephen King

Snow on the ground counts as winter scene on the cover, right?

Teehee!

It's taking all my willpower to leave those books alone, but at least this round is pretty easy, I think. :)

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 949 comments On recomended list from our team is
Frankenstein -Switzerland tag

Also
The Underground Railroad & Educated - Freedom tag

Just fyi!

message 1118: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12884 comments Something tells me we're not going to struggle to fill the tags this round :)

message 1119: by Sonia (last edited Jul 22, 2020 05:30AM) (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments I saw The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon in one of the tags too, not sure which one.

My sister is trying to convince me to get back to the King with that one for a while.

[EDIT]: found it! Shelved 22 times as mountain

Actually, I don't. I might think that for the first spin, BUT, I was pretty sure you were at least thinking about it.... I just decided to tease you in case you were planning on torture us with the waiting.

:P

I have seen it on more than one of this rounds words.

Agree!

message 1123: by Mandiann (new)

Mandiann (goodreadscommandiann) | 495 comments So....I am really struggling with my Y book. Does anyone have a book that is slated for another letter that works for Y? Maybe we can trade spots?

Also, how much colour does a book need to be to count for colour covers? The Golden Compass (His Dark Materials, #1) by Philip Pullman is 50% blue, according to tineye. Is that enough or should I figure out a different task for it?

message 1124: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments That bear looks bluish... so using Mr Karen's approach I'd say it's blue.

message 1125: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Lemme see if the second Demon Magic book also has Yoko. If so, I can read it in a few hours, no worries about it

message 1126: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Yeah, Yoko is in it. I'll pause my current book and tackle that one instead!

message 1127: by Mandiann (new)

Mandiann (goodreadscommandiann) | 495 comments Sonia wrote: "Yeah, Yoko is in it. I'll pause my current book and tackle that one instead!"

Thank you so much, Sonia!

What letter does your current book work for? I can pick up something else short or I can cover one of the still open letters in our last word.

message 1128: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Mine was an E, but I might finish both. I have a calm day at work tomorrow, so I can sneak it too :)

☼♎ Carmen the Bootyshaker Temptress ☼♎ | 7238 comments Hi everybody. I was going to post the new word and tags but decided to see if Sammy had done it but I see Sonia and Sammy got them up. Hahaha Oh the fun with this new set. Let me see what I have coming up that will work.

message 1131: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12884 comments Goooood evening ladies and gents! We're a little over half way in our little road trip now, and today we find ourselves in the East North Central area, where the first stop is Michigan! Even for those of us outside of the US, Michigan is well known for it's industry, especially the automotive industry in Detroit...

description

And while we're in the region, we're gonna swing by Ohio too...

description

That's it for today's stop... join us in a couple of days to see the sights in Illinois!

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 949 comments Wow Sammy, just wow!
You keep impressing me with the views you find for us to ogle appriciate the topography of those lovely abs. *clears throat* Yes, just such nice views.

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 949 comments Just went thru the spreadsheet and updated my books for this round (nine). So, fingers crossed I got them all with dates, tasks etc, and everything should be on my wheel bookshelf and marked as read.

I am now going to focus on my longer book for GISH for the next few days.

Back for Yodelling soon.
😉

Apoorv Moghe (goodreadscomapoorv) | 1267 comments Question:
Does any of the already read/intended books for this round have a spare U?

The reason I ask is I intend to read the BOTM Dear Martin and can fit that in this round, but AFAIK it doesn't have an U.

So, if we can swap any of those spare U books with this, we can complete the last spell-out on the spreadsheet.

"Dear Martin" works for E, G, T, N, C, R, and S from what I see prima facie.

message 1136: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Lemme check if any of my Unbreakable Bonds books are used on a different letter

message 1137: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Devour, Blaze, Ignite and Rialto can all be used as Us, they are currently used for I.

However, The Blueprint and A Deeper Blue, have an I character, and are currently used for T and E, so, there are swap options.

message 1138: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12884 comments I'm sure we can move things around to fit, thanks Sonia :)

message 1139: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Anytime!

Now if only my boss stopped making me think about work so I can read....

message 1140: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12884 comments Everyone getting on ok with your books? I should finish my last one for this week tonight, then I'm going to concentrate on books for next round. It's been a pretty good round for me reading-wise.

Give us a holler if you think you're not going to manage any of your planned books so we can re-shuffle them some :)

message 1141: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments I'm going to finish my last book for the round today...

message 1143: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Yeah. It helps me to keep a little of my sanity.... Otherwise I'll start chewing some heads

message 1144: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12884 comments I know that feeling! someone asked me last week how I've managed to get through lockdown without murdering people, and I told them "By putting my headphones on and ignoring everyone" lol!

Exactly!
Just wish the people in my house understood how often they put their lives in danger by pestering me.

Apoorv Moghe (goodreadscomapoorv) | 1267 comments Cappies, links to my discussion questions for the BOM, Dear Martin. Will add others, if required, in a wee bit.
DQs - Day 1
DQs - Day 2

message 1150: by Apoorv (new)

Apoorv Moghe (goodreadscomapoorv) | 1267 comments Cap Cap Cappies, just wanted to let you know that I have added, Dear Martin for an E on a new spellout #8.

If we move
Sonia's Ignite from I (Spellout #5) to U (Spellout #7), and
Sonia's A Deeper Blue from E (Spellout #6) to I (Spellout #5),
we can squeeze in "Dear Martin" in the vacant E (Spellout #6), thus completing out seventh spellout.
