Hehe... What's wrong with reading all week?
I'm seriously considering taking a week's break in a remote location, by myself, no electronic devices, just me and a stack of books when the travel thing becomes an option again.
Only problem with doing that is that I may not want to go home again! :D

Just not today. Is so darn hot outside.
I finished Blaze. I think it's my favorite so far. Loved the mystery. The Jagger ordeal was too stretched out to make for the 4 books. This one, being independent was quite good.
Can't wait for the next one. But, according to my timeline, I think I need to add another one from ward security first.
Of course, I promised the kid I'd be around, so I might have to grab an audio instead and set some colouring supplies on the table.
Good thing I decided to try audible escape for this challenge too :)

Well... I have to hide in my room... I was downstairs coloring with the kid and a book on my ears but my stepdad can't look at facebook posts without commenting... or wanting us to look at it... because there's nothing he enjoys more than to share what he thinks it's funny.
So I used the ask the minion if she's hungry excuse, and proceed to disappear upstairs after feeding her. I am planning not to return for the next hour. By then he'll probably be outside watering trees and vegetables. LOL
LOL

Any arguments against me using the two rings as circles on the cover?"
Looks like circles to me, plus is watch face is a circle.

Oooooohhh! Look forward to it soonly then.

Btw, the third book of the Ward Security series takes place after Blaze.
Not that they need to be read at the same time... apart from minor references or some cameos - it is Rowe's company after all - nothing major happens. It's even less spoilerish than reading the series, and not the short stories in between (which are not mandatory, just fun to read)

On the plus side, the book I'm currently reading mentions Morris dancers! Woohoo! ( The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry )
Hope everyone is getting on ok with their books? I just finished my Bond book, which was awesome, but not recommended for anyone that can't handle old-fashioned ideas about women ;)

Chris Pratt in there always gets my attention....

We're starting in the North East, in the region known as New England. There are six states in that region, including Maine, which is known for being the setting of almost every one of Stephen King's books. It sounds like a terrifying place! lol.
Our first stop is the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (to use its official name), the capital of which is Boston. There's some lovely sights to see in Boston...

Also in Massachusetts is the city of Cambridge, best known as being the home of Harvard university. Chances are you'll meet some smart people around there, as well as have something nice to look at...

That's it for Massachusetts tune in in a couple of days for our next New England destination...

Sorry about the internet. SO hard when it is down.
Way to go on the Morris Dancers. I was happily surprised when I came across them in Green Darkness.
...and yes those Bond books by Ian Fleming can be a bit hard to stomach with the sexist attitudes of the times and the characters.

So yesterday one of the people managements called about a new project... all fine and dandy, but he was asking because the potential client wanted an interview with me. I *HATE* this part of being a consultant. Hate it with a passion.
But,it's part of the process... just because I load interview doesn't mean I can skip them.
Of course it ruined my ability of doing anything else during the day, even sleep.
I ended up reading TWO BOOKS yesterday. And managed to stay awake till 4 in the morning.
I am totally toasted today... good thing that 1)I am off work and 2)It's an online interview and even better 3)It's scheduled to 6 PM, meaning, I can sneak a power nap if needed.
Anyway, I am annoyed at Fracture. As a software tester and a math major, I tend to get stuck into little details. And I am annoyed that little detail was never referred till it gets thrown at our faces in gory detail. I understand it was for major impact. I would also accepted if it was with any other of the fantastic four. But, being it a Snow and Jude book, it is gnawing at me that it was not mentioned before.

And yay! for reading lots. I managed a fair chunk today, and tomorrow should hopefully be pretty good too :)

Sounds like a great plan! :)

Without too much Spoiler what happened in Fracture? Please tell me Jude and Snow come out of it ok

Good to know.
...and how is your GISH book comeing along?

Without too much Spoiler what happened in Fracture?..."
No spoilers besides qhat is on the sinopses. Jude's brother is attacked and they try to find out why. And yes, they come out of it okay.

There are other things to look at in Connecticut besides books, of course.

It is convenient that this state provides such big, strong men. after all, books weigh a lot, and we may need help carrying them all back to the train ;)

I'm reading a lpt of dystopias back to back and I'm getting into this uncanny valley where lots of the 'downfall of humanity' event that are happening in the books are starting to happen now....

But no, I am not the Grinch, I am just very grouchy.

Good to know.
...and how is your GISH ..."
LOL I do that later but I have a few that I can use ;)

I would scream with the frustration of "one effing thing after another", but I don't want to worry the neighbours :D

That sucks. The buggers are nasty to get rid of. Unless you don't mind using chemicals"
Isn't it pepermint oil they don't like? I have forgotten. And other bugs clove or something.
Ugh! Brain.....not.............working, 😣😖

Sure, I still have one book left on the ward security spin off but it isn't the same thing.
I also have to update the spreadsheet.... My last couple of books are not there yet
Tomorrow... It's 1 AM here

So, I finally caved in and bought an inflated pool.
Now I'm under a tree shadow while it slowly fills with water.
And dealing with a 7 y.o. excitement... Which is the harder part

We used to have a pool too. Unfortunately we could only use it three times a year, living in Leeds and all. 3 days of summer is all we get! :D

Does roomba know you're trying to make a environment friendly version of their patent?
ant powered vacuum cleaner... keep the house clean with only one tablespoon of sugar!

Naturally there are sights to see in New York (New York city in particular) that are instantly recognised the world over. There are bound to be very few people that have never seen a picture of the Statue of Liberty, for example.
Let's see how many other famous landmarks you can all spot on our tour of new york!

And that's it for New York. Hope you're all enjoying your books!

LMAO!

Ugh ants are the worst pests. I had them and it was crazy trying to get rid of them.

LOL....I can tell you my GISH is super long but I've been filling in with smaller audio's to keep up with my sign-up level over here.

Yea, peppermint is one of the things they don't like. Cinnamon is supposed to be the best natural deterrent.

They disappeared. Of course he just lets it's dry to deter them while they move along elsewhere.
Today I was trying to mop that area of the floor and sorta gave up suds city. It just kept making soapy mess because the tile ended up with a layer on it. Who knows how many washes it will take me to actually get rid of all the soap residue.
