Rokkan (rokk) | 191 comments You ever read a book and just wanna smack one of the PoV characters even though they're kinda accurately written just really annoying?

That's where I am with When We Collided right now

Yep. Smack them!

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 2239 comments Oh yes I've read plenty of books where there is a character that you know is the way they are because, but you just want to throttle them and beat some sense into them because it is annoying.

But I suppose the author has done their job, if we didn't have feelings for any of the characters we would have a problem.

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments So... my boss asked me to go to a meeting because it was at the same time as the project management one.

So now, I'm stuck into a microsoft teams chat room, listening to people discussing stuff that, although related, it wasn't the main purpose of the darn meeting.

And I can't just tell them to shut up and go to the subject,

LOL

message 858: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12880 comments Jeez... they expect you to not only go to the meeting, but to pay attention too? how dare they! Don't they know there's a challenge going on!?

message 859: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Apparently not.

Nor that I postponed my week off because of the amount of acceptance testing that needed to be done.

I sure hope my sister has no plans for me next week

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12880 comments G'Day mates!

At the urging of our - by now probably very tired - waiter, our next stop is Australia, so he can say hello to his family...

Of course, Australia is known for its two extremely different types of geography.
First of all, there's the world famous beaches...

And then of course there's the rugged Outback...

There sure is a lot to see around here! Also, someone wanted to show his appreciation for us stopping here a little while...

Seriously!
The same tags!?!
Ugh! ☹😦😩😟😕
Well, at least we have more letter veriety with those words and I have a few books with tags that do not work for this current round.

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 2239 comments Countdown for when to have books all completed into the spreadsheet to ease the captains deadline.

Countdown Clock

This is 1 hour before the official start of the next round since we have to have all books logged before the end.

message 874: by Alison (Lady Coffin) (last edited Jul 07, 2020 09:18PM) (new)

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 949 comments Does anyone have another tagged book for this round?
I have A Court of Mist and Fury, it is plugged into the spreadsheet, but an not really feeling it, so was thinking of using it in the next round.
I could read another shortish book for "poison" or "games" tag.
Unless someone else has something so we get the full 10 done.

message 875: by Plethora (new)

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 2239 comments That exact for tags is hard. I found umbrella for a book, but it was cover-umbrella and closing-her-umbrella and umbrella-summer....so no match.

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 949 comments Plethora wrote: "That exact for tags is hard. I found umbrella for a book, but it was cover-umbrella and closing-her-umbrella and umbrella-summer....so no match."

I went to the list to look, found it easier.
https://www.goodreads.com/shelf/show/...
For the Umbrella tagged books
So it is
https://www.goodreads.com
...then...
/shelf/show/turkey
For Turkey tags
Just the final word needs to be changed for other lists

I think I'm going to accidentally fall off the train

I might have slipped on all the drooling on the floor.

*whispers* come back...

*whispers even lower* don't leave me behind...

Dang, they left me.

Now who what to do?

Yeah, know the feeling. Between each of the Unbreakable Bows books, there's a collection of shorties, and the first one was EIGHT PAGES short... *grumbles*

I still read it though.... I'm too week to resist... but it doesn't count.

Not fair!

I was tempted to try Poison Study, because tag and Y character, but no audio available :(

message 882: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12880 comments I've got two tags lined up for next round. Won't have time for any more for this round, unfortunately :(

message 883: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments I have the Worldshappers series by Edward Willett to read, got the first in a kindle deal and both #2 and #3 as ARCs. And it has a Y character. I might give it a try for next round. After the Unbreakable series, of course, Us and Is, and I'm pretty sure I won't be done with it in 2 days. They're 8 books and I'm currently at #2... yeah, I'm almost sure.

With genre? I might have a few X books, but are mosty MM romance.

Also, if you're into YA, the first Artemis Fowl has a minor X character, right at the beginning of the action. As well as a V character at the end.

Have you tried the alphabet series?

I never read them, so no clue how standalonish they are

☼♎ Carmen the Bootyshaker Temptress ☼♎ | 7238 comments Team please make sure that your books are in your shelves. I know that things can get busy but we don't want to be caught with our books not shelved, thanks :-)

☼♎ Carmen the Bootyshaker Temptress ☼♎ | 7238 comments Suzy I placed your book The Last Battle (Chronicles of Narnia, #7) by C.S. Lewis as tagged YA since it doesn't have more than one circle. This question before and since it the task does have a plural we thought it was safer the say that it meant more than one circle.

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 949 comments Sammy wrote: "Sonia wrote: "Sammy wrote: "Dang it! I thought I might read mary Poppins next round, but it's only 38k words :(..."

Sammy for Poison Study, see if you can find the three book collection as an audio. I am fairly sure one of my re-reads was as an audio.

The only audio I can find is for a collection of shorts. I found a link to a US site with it on (supposedly), but wouldn't let me in from the UK.

I wouldn't mind, but I actually got given a copy of book 2 by a colleague, and can't read it until after I've read #1, lol.

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 949 comments Sammy, that is a bummer.
Do you have easier access to Canadian sites? Because it seems to me Mandiann and Suzy may have had access to an Audio, but do not quote me on that.

If I had an audio subscription I would try and lend it to you, if that was an option, but I get all my Audiobooks thru the Library.
Sorry, wish I was more help.

Suzy would be the one to ask. She keeps me on track and tells me which audio is where and how to read it. I want to say we might have the poison series on our audible but I am not sure if you can lend with it and it is also possible we borrowed it from a library.

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 949 comments Mandiann wrote: "Suzy said we might need one more tag for this round and that my current read, The Queen of Nothing works for a tag? But we would need to fit it into a letter. I think it works for T..."

Please, you can have my space if needed.
Then I do not have to push to read my Flavia book for poison, and can use it next week.
