Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Are we still in need of some V's?

I just remembered the Market Garden Series from LA Witt and Aleksandr Voinov... I'm pretty sure I can go through one (or two - sorry sis) till the deadline. And the letters are awesome, like I, O, V. Not to mention that they're almost PWP *naughty grin* so REALLY quick reads. And entertaining.

Yeah, what letters are needed?
Will everyone be able to finish the books they have on the spreadsheet?
If not speak up PLEASE?

message 659: by Sammy (last edited Jun 25, 2020 06:36AM) (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12880 comments If everyone finishes the books they have listed, we can use any of the letters except H and O (but if someone really wants to read an H or O, I'm sure we can make it work ;) ).

Everyone please don't forget to mark books as read and add to your shelves on GR!

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 949 comments Ok!

Was looking over the planning sheet, and came up with a similar answer.
Thanks Sammy

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12880 comments No problem.

I'm powering through Infinite Jest right now. Loved it to begin with, but I'm a third of the way through and it's starting to get old. Something tells me this will be one I'll be glad to finish!

I believe Elena's book can be used for other letters as well, so if you need the N I can switch her book to a different letter.

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments I put mine on the "O", but it can fit a V, a T or a R easily. Can't remember the name of the hispanic guy, so I'll update if needed be.

LOL

We try.

First thing she said when reading the rules was "what? I'll have to ask on your thread for recs? Can't I just go to your room?"

And yes, we live together by choice. LOL

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 949 comments Think I will go with The Son of Neptune, it is due soon, and catches a bunch or the letters without even going into secondary characters.

Yup
And as a re-read in audio, I can knock it out quickly, so could do another if we need it.

I picked it as an N, but it also fits for S and R (characters named Sam and Rita). Will definitely be able to finish it though, such an easy yet bittersweet read.

Linda C (libladynylindac) | 913 comments SO the end of Round 1 is 10 pm London time which is 5 pm EST on the 26th, right?

Do we have a team deadline that is earlier so you have time to finalize our spreadsheet?

Can this all be noted in one of the Reserve areas at the beginning?

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments I'm 47% of my book, will probably finish it in a couple of hours - shhhhh don't tell Eni, she'll rattle on me.

And maybe I can pick a spot for tomorrow that can also be used for round #2 if I don't make it... yeah, right, like that's going to happen

*giggles*

yep, 10 pm BST tomorrow is the end of the round, and we were going to have the team post earlier so we have time to sort the SS. I believe Plethora was going to post an altered countdown?

Go Sonia! You could always go hide in the buffet cart. That way if she tries to come and tell you off, she'll get distracted by the Hemsworth and you can sneak in another book or 3 ;)

message 683: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments That's a good idea but there is a flaw on your plan.... Me and Hemsworth hiding in some space? There will be no reading involved.

And you call that a flaw? Sod the books, we'd understand ;)

message 685: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12880 comments Hello and good evening again ladies and gentlepeople. I know I normally make an appearance around this time every other day, but we've needed to swing back to London to restock our supplies. for some reason the buffet cart seems very popular...

description

I wonder why that would be...

Luckily for us, there are still plenty of sights to be seen in London, from it's high end clothing outlets...

description

... to its many places to eat and drink.

description

Please bear with us while we restock, and we will soon be on our way again.

message 686: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Omigosh... I couldn't find the cart earlier, so I ended up finishing my book - will update tomorrow.

But now I might have to get something to... Keep me company till I fell asleep.... I was planning on getting another book... Although I'm finding hard to focus on reading....

message 695: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Good Morning Team!!!!

So, I ended up not starting anything new yesterday... it was too hot do do anything but stay put in despair...

Anywoo, I was thinking it's time I sink my teeth on Spells for the Dead... BUT, I actually have work to do today - and contrarily to some dubious whispers, I do work - maybe I can read a few pages on dead times, but I have a meeting to prepare to, so, I'll be reading case tests, requirements and comments instead. Boooo

So, I'll start it anyway, but I'll probably only have a couple hours of reading today, so, it might be my first book for next round.

It is a shame, cause it has so many pretty letters....

We'll see... after I work on my to do list for today :o)
