Nothing But Reading Challenges discussion
Wheelathon 5

Team Don Quixote
Laura - I just marked Hooked complete. I didn't know until I read it that it also had a Y character. Just FYI. It's still on the sheet for I.I'm not going to read Sapphire Flames. I'm going to read The House of Lies instead. I replaced it on the sheet, leaving it in the I spot. It has both I and Y characters, among others. That way you get the most flexibility plus it's shorter and I won't feel as stressed to get through it tonight!
Laura wrote: "Just make sure you read Sapphire Flames before Emerald Blaze comes out next month!"Yes Ma'am!!!
Finished both of my books and updated the team planning sheet! Now, I'm off to plan for the next round!
Emeli, we need your book shelved on your wheel shelf and marked as read so we can use it for this round.
Patrycja, we also need your copy of Catcher in the Rye shelved on your wheel shelf and marked as read to use it.
Michelle wrote: "Geri, we also need Deception Point added to your wheel shelf, too!"It is on my shelf! 🙂

I'll get those added now! :)

It doesn't work for Family. It has to be on the Main book page, not the first page of tags. You used the family relation task with Child, so I'll put it down for Contemporary.

You've already used the insect task, so I'll put it down for Yellow cover.

Thanks! I am a mess every time I post a book lmao
That's ok, Robyn! You are adding to our book count, and that's all that matters.Nice round, team. Way to go! Let's focus on round 5 now.
We're up to 7 tagged books for Round 5, currently. If anyone is interested, I high recommend both
and
. They are both tagged Spring. I quite enjoyed
for the nostalgia, as well. It is also tagged Spring.
Laura wrote: "We're up to 7 tagged books for Round 5, currently."I just added 1 more, and plan to add even more but am having Decision Fatigue.
I WANT TO READ ALL THE BOOKS! :D
*deep breath*I picked another.
One of Cindee's recommendations, Splintered, is tagged both Spring and Fae :D
I added another Fairy book, which has an O character, and it looks like we need more O's...So we have 10 now, but the more the merrier
Thank goodness I had my book The Space Between Worlds checked. Because LGBT was dropped from the main page!
Also, I noticed that on our planding spreadsheet, the task points aren’t being added when a completion date is entered.
There's another O book that I could maybe read if I end up having time... or if I drop the BOM. It's Parable of the Sower. Just for fun I went through over 100 pages of tags, and found both Spring (1 tag) and Nature (2 tags). So random. I think I saw "Sky Fairy" in there pretty early in my search, and was like WHY SKY FAIRY???
Laura wrote: "I’ll take a look, Geri."I took the liberty of fixing the problem:
The formula was missing from cell L-25 (in Geri's finished book, The Space Between Worlds)
ETA: formula was also missing from cell L-18 (your Thinking Racehorse). That was the only other one.

Thank you. I think we've had the same problem with the last few round sheets. Interestingly enough, it isn't missing on the main spreadsheet, where this is copied from. :)
Geri wrote: "Thank goodness I had my book The Space Between Worlds checked. Because LGBT was dropped from the main page!"Good thing!

OMG, Alysa! 100 pages!? I get tired after looking through 3 pages. 😁
Laura wrote: "It’s not so bad if you use the search feature."Not sure what you mean by search feature. There is that thing where you can search a particular book for a particular tag, but GR times-out on that like 99% of the time.
So I always try that just for giggles, and then still end up having to just go thru the 100+ pages doing Control+F
:O
Geri wrote: "I get tired after looking through 3 pages. 😁"You have read so much for Wheel, I bet a lot of your books were tagged for whatever we needed in each round, but buried so far in the list that you didn’t get that far, lol.
I have a Mac, but I assume you can do this somehow on a PC. I hit Command-G on my keyboard, and that brings up a search box. I type the word, it searches the page for that word, then I go to the next page, hit Command-G again, and the search term is still there. I had a few books that were over 200 pages of tags to search!I learned all kinds of search techniques from playing Bookshelf Bingo in the SOS:Serious Overload of Series group!

I don’t think I can use that feature on an iPad. I usually go to the top shelves page. Put the tag in and see what is on the list. Very tedious! I am sure you are right, Alysa. I probably did read a book with a tag we needed!
Yeah it sounds like Command+G on Mac is the the same as Control+F on a PC.I can't do it from my iPad either, but I tend to toggle between iPad and PC in general.
I don't really like Macs but I like my iPad... for many things though definitely not all!
Re the "other" tag search method... In case anyone wants to try it, this is the best thing I've seen explaining that other thing I mentioned (the one that almost always times out!):
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
I've seen it circulated around quite a bit. Maybe GR servers used to be more reliable?

It still works if the book doesn't have too many different tags. But I think it changed about the time the shelf listing switched from displaying 50 pages down to displaying 25 pages. You use to be able to change the page number in the URL bar and it would advance to that page. That doesn't work anymore. :(
Laura wrote: "It still works if the book doesn't have too many different tags"Talk about defeating the purpose! Silly GR developers. 🙄

If it has 50 pages or more of tags I don't even try. :)
