Michelle (govmarley) | 3150 comments I made the switch, Geri. And my book worked for E as well as Q, so I swapped it around.

ETA since Robyn's U was used instead, it also works for B, A and E.

Alysa H. | 3840 comments I haven’t been able to read much since Wed, but starting tomorrow I will have more reading time.
Not much left of The Graveyard Book, which is another re-read/read-aloud for my daughter and should be done by tomorrow evening. I am hoping to plow through a lot of books in the last 2 rounds of Wheel!

Sallie(GeorgiaGirl) (shuga) | 775 comments I have my “B” book finished if someone one will kindly add to the spreadsheet.

Geri I updated the spreadsheet with my last book for this round. I started books last night for the next round. Trying to get a head start since they are longer.

If you've finished it, we can use it somewhere!

message 666: by Laura (new)

Laura | 5524 comments I've just finished Peace Talks. Any other Dresden fans in here? If so, I suggest you wait and see if the next book really does come out in September. Because that was a doozy of a cliffhanger!

I put it down for the MPG Dystopia task. :)

message 668: by Laura (new)

Laura | 5524 comments We got 11 full spellings! Our partial 12th was only missing an A & and E!

Robyn (robyn_r) | 88 comments I had an emergency earlier with a cat my mother brought in from outside. With covid we couldn't get a damn spay on her until 2 months out and we didn't know she was pregnant until a few days ago. Well she is in the process of labor and I am a nervous wreck!

Oh my. I just went thru this with a stray Momma Kat. She had a litter of 5 wee babies. All but one have been adopted. Boots Sam Loki Casper and Thor. Pretty much all over the place in their names. Don’t panic Momma Kat will know what to do, I promise. I worried because I wanted to make sure they had food and water. Drove my husband nuts. Lol.

The last baby kitten I rescued was hours old and abandoned. We named him Spartacus. He just turned a year old this summer and still carries his baby blanket around the house with him lol

I’m the same way because I adopted Loki even after hubby said NO. Haha. Showed him. Lol. We both love Loki. He looks Siamese. Momma was solid black can’t tell which male stray is Daddy since Loki has none of their colorings. Loki has gorgeous ice blue eyes & the Siamese yowl. He’s a handful.

message 675: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (carriele1216) | 1317 comments Sallie - Loki sounds beautiful!!

Robyn - Wow! 10 cats! We’ve taken in 3 strays over the past 4 years and I thought I was tipping the scales lol! Each time I’ve told my husband that we’ll find a good home for kitty. Ends up being ours!

I was listening to the audio, because James Marsters is superb as Dresden, and I almost threw my phone across the room. It's actually not exactly a cliffhanger, more like a non-ending. But the pre-order for the next one is already up on Audible, so I'm hopeful!

message 681: by Geri (new)

Geri We’ve got 2 spoiled cats. They can be a pain sometimes, LOL, but they make us laugh every day and we love them to bits!

[[ Frankie ]] (freedbyfiction) | 536 comments Guys, I have had to unexpectedly move at the last minute, which is why I haven’t been around much for the last week or so. My new place won’t be ready until the 30th, then I’ll be moving stuff out of storage into the new place. So I won’t be around a whole lot until after the 1st or 2nd, but after that I’ll be back to normal for the most part. I’ll still be reading & everything. But just wanted to give y’all a heads up as to what’s going on. :p

Alysa H. | 3840 comments Librarian request please!:

Can somebody add a new paperback edition of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, with the same 193 page count as the edition in the link above, no ISBN either (because 9780345418913 is taken by a later printing), publisher Del Rey, year 2009, and the following cover as seen here:

https://www.abebooks.com/servlet/Book...

I want to use it for SPACE tag :)

I did this Alysa but that ISBN really belongs with the new cover but Amazon is using that white cover for that ISBN and I'm not going to try and fight against Amazon. But when you use the look inside feature of that white cover, what appears is your cover with the 9780345418913 ISBN. Until Amazon is corrected though, I don't have the power to move the ISBN to the correct cover.

Here's the link https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5...

Yep, I know... which is why I said no ISBN either (just like the default Ed) because 9780345418913 is taken by a later printing.
I think Amazon just hasn’t updated the “look inside” feature to include the cover of the latest printing, is all.
Thanks LaurLa!

message 693: by Geri (new)

Geri Every time I find a book tagged Adventure, by the time I want to use it, the tag is no longer on the main page. Frustrating!

message 694: by Laura (new)

Laura | 5524 comments Geri, have Michelle, LaurLa, or I look at it to verify that it’s on the main page, and then it’s fine even if it drops off.

message 695: by Geri (new)

Geri If only I thought of that earlier. Twice I had to switch tasks for a book. This time the book doesn’t work for any available tasks. I think I’ll stop now trying to fill that task!

Geri, I can't find anywhere where you used a the White cover task, #111. You were going to use it for Uglies, but then we saw that it was recommended by another team.

Additionally, if After the Flood works for something else, you could use Imposters for the MPG Science Fiction task.

Sallie(GeorgiaGirl) (shuga) | 775 comments I’m reading Cake on a Hot Tin Roof (A Piece of Cake Mystery #2) by Jacklyn Brady ...not exactly sure what task this on fits but it will cover R C or Y
