LOL, yeah, I don't DNF very often, but since it wasn't a Review Copy or anything, and I hadn't invested too much time in it yet, I was like, NOPE. NOT DOING. :D

Michelle (govmarley) | 3150 comments Just finished my Q! #7 done. Working on #8. GOOOOO team go!

message 604: by Geri (new)

Geri I am working on my last Q book. It will be done today. 🙂

message 605: by Geri (new)

Geri Will anyone be adding more books to the round 3 spreadsheet? If so, we will need another Q and U book, since we can only have 1 partial word.

message 606: by Alysa (new)

Alysa H. | 3840 comments I don’t think I will have time to finish anything else for this round after I complete Blackbird in the Reeds, unfortunately. :(

message 607: by Alysa (new)

Alysa H. | 3840 comments It does look like at least 1 book with a U title was logged for an E (character) though, so hopefully the captains can move a couple of things around with that as a starting point so that we don’t end with more than one partial word. :)

message 608: by Laura (new)

Laura | 5524 comments I’ll move around if necessary. And I think I’ll get at least 1 more than I have on the spreadsheet.

message 609: by Robyn (new)

Robyn (robyn_r) | 88 comments I can take both the Q and U book if those 2 letters are still needed.

I can do Unfollow Me for title U

and

Because of Miss Bridgerton by Julia Quinn

message 610: by Laura (new)

Laura | 5524 comments I think Michelle is also reading another Julia Quinn that she hadn’t put on the spreadsheet yet.

message 611: by Alysa (new)

Alysa H. | 3840 comments If we get another word with a Q during round 4 or 5, I am considering reading Queen of Air and Darkness.
I would like to finally finish that particular chunk of Shadowhunters!

But it’s quite long, which means it’d make my total # of books go down for the time it would take, so, we’ll see what happens.
*fingers crossed for new word announcement soon*
😁

Laura | 5524 comments I possibly have jury duty next week. Our county uses a call-in system, so I have to call in each night during the week (beginning Sunday night) to find out if I have to go in the next day. If I have to go in, but don't get on a jury, I'll get lots of reading time and nothing will be affected. But, if I end up on a jury, my reading time will be greatly cut. :(

This is my 3rd time being called since we moved to this county nearly 8 years ago, after having not been called for over 25 years!

message 613: by Laura (last edited Jul 22, 2020 12:21AM) (new)

Laura | 5524 comments Spelling #8 is waiting for a U to be finished, and #9 is waiting for a U & a B. #10 is waiting for 2 Bs, a Q & a U.

I'm thinking we can get 11 done! Anybody with me? :)

message 614: by Geri (new)

Geri I can probably get another 1 or 2 done. But I need to know what letters. If Robyn can do a Q and U, I can look for other letters. I do think we should get another Q and U, just in case we are short. It won’t hurt to have more than we need!

message 615: by Robyn (new)

Robyn (robyn_r) | 88 comments I can fit in 2 more books, so just let me know what letters you need. I am sure I will have something

Maybe a reading challenge is a legit excuse to get out of jury duty? LOL
I hope you don’t get picked. Especially in this time of COVID. How does that work? I haven’t thought about that. 🤔

message 617: by Laura (new)

Laura | 5524 comments Robyn, go ahead with the Q & U.

Geri, you do still have a B and an A on the spreadsheet.

I’ll let you know how the jury duty works if I have to go in. I do have high blood pressure, which puts me in a higher risk category. I wonder if that can get me excused?

message 618: by Geri (new)

Geri I just finished my B book. And will finish my other tonight. I will have time to do more on Thursday and part of Friday. Because...well...I am just that crazy! 😁

Thanks! I am finishing up one book for a blog tour and then I will get started on the two books

Laura | 5524 comments Round 4 information is up! I'm setting up the planning sheet right now.

Word: CREATIVITY

Tags: Flower, Lavender, France, Battle, Space

If you can also fit in another U, that would be great! That is the open letter on our planning sheet in the last nearly full word.

message 623: by Laura (new)

Laura | 5524 comments I'm liking this Battle tag!

Alysa, Harry Potter 5 & 6 are both tagged, if you're continuing with the series.

message 624: by Laura (new)

Laura | 5524 comments I don't get people sometimes. Anna and the French Kiss is tagged battle. I thought it might be worth checking for the France tag, but it's on the Battle tagged list. :)

message 625: by Alysa (new)

Alysa H. | 3840 comments I'm not reading more HP, but I'll be done with The Graveyard Book over the weekend, and that is tagged Battle too!

I just went through and found a shit-ton of books on my TBR tagged battle, space, and/or france. I don't own many of them, but between owned books, library e-access, and my 2-month KU trial not being over until 5 Aug, I can definitely cover several tagged books.
:D

I've got a few, too. I was hoping to find A Court of Wings and Ruin on the list, as when I try to search the book itself it times out. Looks like I'll be searching through a LOT of pages to find it, since I'm already listening to it. :)

message 627: by Alysa (new)

Alysa H. | 3840 comments I'm pretty sure I saw A Court of Thorns and Roses on the list of Battle books (or could it have been France?!) so the rest of the series is most likely on the list too...

Laura | 5524 comments Alysa wrote: "I'm pretty sure I saw A Court of Thorns and Roses on the list of Battle books (or could it have been France?!) so the rest of the series is most likely on the list too..."

I saw 1 & 2, but not 3. But the list stops at 25 pages (thanks for that change, Goodreads!). It's probably tagged, since that's the one with the big battle, but I need to verify it.

At least from the list I know they were both only tagged once, so I can skip the first 40 or so pages and go straight to the tags that are only from 1 person. :)

message 629: by Geri (new)

Geri Oh, I like that we will need V books. I have been saving them.

I have a harder time finding tags. But I will search to see if any of my tbr is on a list.

OK. I will find a U book to read!

message 630: by Alysa (new)

Alysa H. | 3840 comments Yeah, that is a good trick, the "only 1 person" thing :D

message 631: by Laura (new)

Laura | 5524 comments Alysa wrote: "Yeah, that is a good trick, the "only 1 person" thing :D"

Unfortunately, it has a ton of tags that include the word battle (big battle, big battles, battle couple, war and battle, war and battles, etc), but no just battle tag.

Alysa H. | 3840 comments @Captains
Can you please change the task for my book The Blast to #160 (featuring a wedding)?
Justification is: two couples have a double wedding

I had had it down for the more generic "set in the US" but I should probably save that one in case I need it later :)

I am changing it on the planning spreadsheet, but of course it needs to be changed on the main spreadsheet too.

message 633: by Laura (new)

Laura | 5524 comments Sure thing. Can you highlight those cells red to remind me?

message 634: by Alysa (new)

Alysa H. | 3840 comments Done.
(It's currently all the way down in the partial spelling.)

message 635: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (govmarley) | 3150 comments My Q will work for multiple letters so it's flexible. I should finish tonight or tomorrow.

I have some V's for next round. Val McDermid for the win!

message 636: by Laura (new)

Laura | 5524 comments Geri, I don't think your book Blackwood works for plant word in title. Embedded words haven't been accepted for other tasks. Unless Blackwood is a plant I'm unfamiliar with?

message 639: by Robyn (new)

Robyn (robyn_r) | 88 comments I will be finished with Unfollow Me for the U

Is the Q still needed?

message 640: by Carrie (last edited Jul 23, 2020 06:39AM) (new)

Carrie (carriele1216) | 1317 comments I'm almost finished with both of my books. When does this round end?

message 641: by Laura (new)

Laura | 5524 comments Robyn - yes!

Carrie - Friday afternoon. It ends at 2:00 in the afternoon for me, Pacific time. But we need your books done at least an hour before so we have time to update the spreadsheet and get checked in.

message 642: by Robyn (new)

Robyn (robyn_r) | 88 comments Alright I am working on the Q next it won't take me long and will be posted sometime Friday AM.

Re Geri's blackwood book, in case she didn't see your comment -
I noticed that too, but Wikipedia says there are several types of blackwood, all different types of tree. Who knew!?

Geri Laura wrote: "Geri, I don't think your book Blackwood works for plant word in title. Embedded words haven't been accepted for other tasks. Unless Blackwood is a plant I'm unfamiliar with?"

OK. I have deleted the task. It doesn’t fit another task that I haven’t used or will use in the next round.

message 646: by Laura (new)

Laura | 5524 comments Geri, Alysa found info on Blackwood trees!

message 647: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (carriele1216) | 1317 comments Thanks Laura. I’ll be sure to have both of my books completed before then!!

message 648: by Laura (new)

Laura | 5524 comments 9th spelling done. 10th is waiting on a U. 11th has 3 books already completed!

Geri Laura wrote: "Geri, Alysa found info on Blackwood trees!"

Oh good! I missed that. I’ve been offline most of the day. Thanks, Alysa!

message 650: by Geri (new)

Geri Laura - Frankie has a book Upright Women Wanted that could be put in the last U spot we need. An E book can replace it. That way we will have 10 words completed.
