Children's Book featuring, dinosaurs, time travel and a talking guidebook.

I listened to this as a book-on-tape as a chaild circa 1990s. I'm not even sure if it exists as a physical book.

The story is about a man who time-travels back to various dinosaur eras along with his talking guidebook. The various dinosaurs perform little scenes. The scene I remember most clearly was two quetzalcoatlus playing I spy and one spots a cockroach...

The talking guidebook also had a catch phrase "Please do not eat this book even in an emergency"
