Boy keeps getting into trouble and is sent to a boarding school for delinquent children. There, he discovers that the kids aren't bad, they're just magic and don't know how to control his powers. He can't figure out what his are though and thinks that he doesn't have any. In the last few pages of the book, he discovers that he is actually able to read peoples souls. For example, he is being interviewed by a woman and he wants it to go well, and he can tell that she is most proud of her eyes, so he compliments them.
