Oh, how I love a good binge!

I finished reading
The Dark Room by Minette Walters last night.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Been a long time since Ive been in here, I'll just post about what I've read so far in december. Finished:
- So caught up on the Dresden Files so far. I feel like they are just okay again. It's probably still in a "setup" stage. Every time Butcher is in these "setup" books it's okay, but then there is the one where a ton of stuff comes together and it's a great book. I do like the unexpected twists and turns here and there, and even if I can figure out the twist it's interesting to try.
- Liked the start of this fantasy steampunk series. A lot of fantasy starts are very slow and tedious to slog through. This one had enough action between the world and character build to keep it interesting. It does a skip between a few different point of views, but separates that between chapters and easy to know who's PoV you look through.
- She is so very random and funny. This is not a book with a real plot. Each chapter is just a thought, conversation or story she has experienced.
- A bit cheesy, typical PNR.
- Wonderment in Death and Fallen were my favorite short stories in this one.
- I felt like it was two different books mashed into one. The parts of the book that were good were very good, the parts that werent were distracting and dropped my rating of this book by a lot.
- cute, little story.
- Still love this author. Books are very, very predictable, but still very enjoyable to read.
My latest reads - all superbBiting Cold and House Rules by Chloe Neill (Chigoland Vampires #6-7)
Bonds of Justice by Nalini Singh (Psy/Changeling #8)
Harbor Lights by Sherryl Woods (Chesapeake Shores #3)
Magic Stars by Ilona Andrews (a Kate Daniels World novella/Kate Daniels #8.5/Grey Wolf #1)
Boundary Lines by Melissa F. Olson (Boundary Magic #2)

Just finished reading
Romancing the Duke by Tessa Dare"Release the ermine!"

Even though I am a big J.D. Robb fan I never read her Nora Roberts books.I just finished the Circle Trilogy and loved it. I am going back and reading her trilogies after reading the Hollows one as well. For some reason I just never thought I would read what people call romance novels. These are nothing like those bodice ripping covers I always associated with the genre.

It was after reading this series that I began reading romance because I chose to start reading Nora's books. Who knew they could be so well written?

For those interested, here's a link to the NR group's top ten favorites by series and standalone. It may be helpful for anyone beginning her massive bibliography.

Ahh Penni...I see my job is not done! :) Nora's books do vary quite a bit from just simple, yet good solid romance to romance/suspense (many of these are standalones) to pnr type romance. I love most all of them.

I like some of them. But they pale in comparison to the In Death series. I've yet to find another male lead like Roarke.
Finally finished reading

Reading Are You in the House Alone? by Richard Peck; It's the last book I need to read for one of my 2015 reading challenges. The category is a book you were supposed to read in high school, I didnt read ir because the movie scared me much. The book is just as creepy as I thought it would be when I was in high school.

Sandra, I am a little confused about where Corrado's story falls in the grand scheme of things and that is because I only read Sempre, and not Sempre Redemption. I don't remember him vividly in Sempre. I read Monster in his Eyes and its sequel and loved them. J.M.'s books are long and detailed so one has to devote time to reading them I imagine. I know that you have a lot on your plate right now reading wise but when you do get around to these, Please let me know what you think.
I will Paula...I'd love to start with Sempre in Jan. but not sure whether I'll get to it or not. We'll see.
Today I finished
The Other Woman by Hank Phillippi Ryan. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Just finished reading
The Devil and Miss Prym by Paulo Coelho1001 Books to Read Before You Die #49
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I got buried by Christmas and family! I hosted this year and while all went well, I had little GR update time.
I finished Controlled Burn by Shannon Stacey, Boston Fire #2, and loved it! I'm enjoying this series much more than Boys of Fall. 4 stars
I finished listening to The Gamble by Kristen Ashley, Colorado Mountain #1, and loved it! 4.5 stars and review to come.
I also finished listening to Nowhere Ranch by Heidi Cullinan, a m/m romance that was too sexually explicit for my tastes. It had a great story that was overwhelmed by the steam. Here's my review.
I started Cold Fear by Toni Anderson, Cold Pursuit #4, almost a week ago and am only halfway because I had no real reading time. I'm loving it, though!
I'm now listening to Career of Evil of Robert Galbraith, Cormoran Strike #3.

just finished reading Slow Burn by Julie Garwood and really enjoyed this one. I have loved all the brothers so far but Nick and Dylan are my favorites.I am still working on Deep Freeze by Lisa Jackson and should be able to finish by the end of the weekend.
I finished one last book in 2015:
by Anne Stuart. My favorite in the House of Rohan series. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I started Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter, but have not had much reading time over the holidays - I won't be able to finish. Ebook expires tomorrow and I'm only 27% done. I'll have to find other resources! Probably the hardback copy from library. It's really good though.
I'm reading the ARC of Abruption, by Riley Mackensie...two of my favorite authors. I'm loving every word, every scene. Next up is The Score by Elle Kennedy and The Shadow by Sykvain Reynard. I'm starting 2016 in reader's heaven, on Cloud 9.
My last book of 2015 was Mastered, by Maya Banks. I liked it but it's not for everyone. I'm a new reader to Maya's work, but her storylines are unique and very suspenseful.
