Okay, I'll give it another chance.

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 3123 comments It's like the Dresden series, you have slog through the first 3 or so before things pick up. But then it is worth it.

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments Finished Fire Touched (Mercy Thompson, #9) by Patricia Briggs it was ok. I think I am the odd man out but it is ok :-)

Restless by Michelle Bellon

Funny, romantic, sexy…a love story.
You grow up. You get married. You have a family. At least, that’s what Malea Winters believes she’s supposed to do. So why is it that every time she comes close to finding that happily ever after, she runs?
When she meets Garrett Taylor, she warns him that she’s not the marrying type because history has shown that long-term relationships are not her forte. She has a tendency to leave when things get too serious; the direct result of being raised by an emotionally detached mother and a stepdad with philandering ways. So she swore off men and surrounded herself with her best friends; three quirky, funny women who are facing challenges of their own.
But Garrett is everything she’s ever looked for; charming, successful, fun, and sexy. Despite her better judgment, his persistence pays off and she finds herself falling for him.
Learning how to love and be loved will be the hardest lesson she’s ever faced. The question is, will her relationships survive that lesson?

Robyn (aiiro_pearl) Just recently finished Grave Visions and Fire Touched. They were both great additions to their respective series. It had been some time since I'd read Alex so I was a little out of touch with the series details but I still enjoyed it. Mercy was less action than I was used to. It was a necessity to the story and drug a little bit, but the character interactions more than made up for it.

Currently I'm reading A Court of Thorns and Roses and loving it. I'm also re-reading The Winter Long

I absolutely love Toby but it is a VERY slow start. It picks up drastically around book 4. Book 5 of the series is one of my favorite books ever.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 127 comments Finished Shaedes of Gray (Shaede Assassin, #1) by Amanda Bonilla . Now I'm starting up Reap the Shadows (Steel & Stone #4) by Annette Marie , so excited! It's the second to last book, but I'll be sad when the series is over.

Marge (memarge2) | 9 comments I've got the first book of the new series but I have not read it yet.

MadameZelda Reading Hurricane Force (Miss Fortune Mystery #7) by Jana Deleon . This is a crazy and funny series.

L.E. Doggett (ldwriter2) | 24 comments At the moment I am reading The Lazarus Gate (The Apollonian Case Files #1) by Mark A. Latham Great writer and a bit slow compared to some books but lots of things to keep a reader interested.

And Storm from the Shadows (Honorverse Saganami Island #2) by David Weber Lots of stuff in that one. It's long and detained but great writing and you learn.

Sandra | 4736 comments Just finished Grave Secret (Secret McQueen, #5) by Sierra Dean

message 421: by MadameZelda (new)

MadameZelda Also reading Six of Crows (Six of Crows, #1) by Leigh Bardugo

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments Just finished Grave Visions (Alex Craft, #4) by Kalayna Price it was good but it felt like something was missing. Maybe it was her friends I am not sure. Still I enjoyed it.

Next up for me will be catching up on the Charley Davidson series I think I am on Seventh Grave and No Body (Charley Davidson, #7) by Darynda Jones

message 423: by Anne (new)

Anne | 318 comments I am just starting Marked in Flesh (The Others, #4) by Anne Bishop . I love this series - it is so different from most paranormal books.

Totally agree it is on my auto buy list
I love it!

message 425: by Robyn (new)

Robyn (aiiro_pearl) Finished A Court of Thorns and Roses (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #1) by Sarah J. Maas and I loved it. Read the blurb for the sequel and I'm pissed. It looks like the love triangles will continue. I'm tired of them.

I'm starting Black Lament (Black Wings, #4) by Christina Henry and that's only because I already own this and the next book. I was extremely unhappy with the way the last book ended and don't exactly have high hopes that it will get better.

message 426: by Anne (new)

Anne | 318 comments Finally catching up with Charley Eighth Grave After Dark (Charley Davidson, #8) by Darynda Jones .

message 427: by Anne (new)

Anne | 318 comments I just read Earthbound An Otherworld Novella by Yasmine Galenorn - loved the story that shows what happens to the sisters when they first come Earthside.

I have almost finished The Dirt on Ninth Grave (Charley Davidson, #9) by Darynda Jones - how will Charley remember who she is???

Sandra | 4736 comments Excellent Anne!

Gotta make time for good books.

I'm looking forward to The Dirt on Ninth Grave (Charley Davidson, #9) by Darynda Jones the pb comes out at the end of May. In my case the pb is cheaper than the kindle. Go figure.

And A&O stories are always good, IMO.

I bought that not long ago mostly because I liked the cover. :-) I haven't read it yet.

My recent UF reads have been: Futuristic Violence and Fancy Suits by David Wong (fun!), A Darker Shade of Magic (Shades of Magic, #1) by V.E. Schwab and A Gathering of Shadows (Shades of Magic, #2) by V.E. Schwab (both okay but too YA for my tastes), Rogue Descendant (Nikki Glass, #3) by Jenna Black .

Right now I'm reading Memory Man (Amos Decker, #1) by David Baldacci .

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 127 comments Wow, I had a busier reading month than I thought!

Murder of Crows (The Twenty-Sided Sorceress, #2) by Annie Bellet Dead Until Dark (Sookie Stackhouse, #1) by Charlaine Harris Living Dead in Dallas (Sookie Stackhouse, #2) by Charlaine Harris Burned by Magic (The Baine Chronicles #1) by Jasmine Walt Club Dead (Sookie Stackhouse, #3) by Charlaine Harris Dead to the World (Sookie Stackhouse, #4) by Charlaine Harris Shaedes of Gray (Shaede Assassin, #1) by Amanda Bonilla Reap the Shadows (Steel & Stone #4) by Annette Marie Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #1) by J.R. Ward Lover Eternal (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #2) by J.R. Ward Lover Awakened (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #3) by J.R. Ward Lover Revealed (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #4) by J.R. Ward

Turned out to be a great reading month for me. Decided to reread both Sookie Stackhouse and the Black Dagger Brotherhood before I could catchup on both series. I've enjoyed rereading both series immensely. Definitely helped to keep me from getting reading burn out.

message 441: by Alisa (new)

Alisa I've been cruising through the Downside Ghosts series. Read Unholy Ghosts (Downside Ghosts, #1) by Stacia Kane Unholy Magic (Downside Ghosts, #2) by Stacia Kane City of Ghosts (Downside Ghosts, #3) by Stacia Kane

I'm ready to move on to the 4th one but I need to read Numbers (New Species, #14-15) by Laurann Dohner first for a challenge (man that cover!)

And, I FINALLY read Storm Front (The Dresden Files, #1) by Jim Butcher I liked it and will definitely continue the series. It's time to set up digital library account though cuz Harry's so expensive I'd have to sell a kid or a kidney to afford this series.

message 442: by MadameZelda (new)

MadameZelda I agree with Harry Dresden's books being on the high side. I am doing the same thing -- the library for his series, but there's a long wait for each book.

I had to laugh at this because I always claim that I can't afford my reading habit.

message 444: by MadameZelda (new)

MadameZelda I gave up on Six of Crows (Six of Crows, #1) by Leigh Bardugo . Too depressing.

message 445: by Anne (new)

Anne | 318 comments I am going to do a quick read of a new series Demigods & Magicians Percy and Annabeth Meet the Kanes by Rick Riordan before I get Night Shift (Midnight, Texas, #3) by Charlaine Harris - love this series.

message 446: by Dawn, Desperately seeking new worlds (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments Listening to Agent to the Stars by John Scalzi and I adore the narrator.

Also reading Seventh Grave and No Body (Charley Davidson, #7) by Darynda Jones I like it but I find myself not interested for long periods of time.

I'm such a mood reader that the library is hard for me. I want to read what I want to read when I want to read it (very Verunca Salt of me) but even the first Harry books are like $9. I like Harry but not that much.

I can't afford my habit either and it's ridiculous that I ever buy new books because I have hundreds on my kindle and in boxes in my garage that I could read first.

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments I finished Seventh Grave and No Body (Charley Davidson, #7) by Darynda Jones and Agent to the Stars by John Scalzi

Not sure what I am going to read next...I am thinking a historical romance.
