Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 127 comments Read Night Broken (Mercy Thompson, #8) by Patricia Briggs and I've moved onto The Alchemists of Loom (Loom Saga, #1) by Elise Kova .

Sandra | 4736 comments Erica, I loved Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #1) by J.R. Ward and you can't go wrong with Cat & Bones :)

Thethriftybooklady (readingdiva8511) | 109 comments Sandra I love Cat and Bones and since I took the 2 year hiatus I haven't read any in awhile.

But I also have heard alot of good things about the Dark Lover and that series that's why it's so hard for me to decide. haha.

Ooo.... I did enjoy the Brotherhood, while I do enjoy Cat and Bones I though One Grave at a Time was just ok. But then again you are in between books so do you want to start a new series?
Somehow I do not think I am all that helpful lol.

message 806: by Dawn, Desperately seeking new worlds (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments I have been reading crap recently. I am working my way through Dark and Deadly Eight Bad Boys of Paranormal Romance by Jennifer Ashley I skipped one short story because it was lame and this one I am reading now is overly complicated I see me ditching it unless this chapter makes it really good.

message 807: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4736 comments I've got that one hanging around :)

message 808: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) Just finished reading The Darkest Seduction (Lords of the Underworld #9) by Gena Showalter . I took a really long break between Strider and Paris's books (5 years) probably because I was worried Paris and Sienna's book wouldn't live up to expectations.

Overall, I enjoyed it but felt it was too long and repetitive in some places with Paris and Sienna's angst. I do like how the overall story arc developed though.

I'll continue with Kane's book even though the reviews have been ho-hum. I'm on the fence now about beginning the spin-off series though. Has anyone read it?

message 809: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4736 comments I've only read to #4 though I've bought them up to #11. Haven't even thought of the spin off yet. And mine's a 6 yr break. LOL

Lol!
It's weird because I do enjoy Showalter's writing style (at least before she became more religious). I actually read and enjoyed her Alien Huntress series during the 5 year break.

Thethriftybooklady (readingdiva8511) | 109 comments really good point Dawn. I'm thinking I might read one grave at a time. I've been missing Cat and Bones.

message 812: by Deborah (new)

Deborah Wilde Feversong (Fever, #9) by Karen Marie Moning I may have had issues with books 6 & 7 but damn, did it wrap up well.

message 813: by Dawn, Desperately seeking new worlds (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments @Sandra LOL I am in the same camp. I think I own up to book 11 but I am only on book 8

@Lauren I forgot about Alien Huntress maybe my library will have them! I also agree I think there are a lot of ways to write romance but it feels like she wanted to keep the same formula which to me did not work. Shame because she was an auto buy author for me for a long time.

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments I am in a reading rut. Last week I started 10 books and barely made it past chapter 2 in any of them. Think I will take a break from books this week and watch reruns of MidSummer Murders

I hate it when that happens. What about trying an old favorite? That usually will help me.

Anne | 318 comments Finally reading Feversong (Fever, #9) by Karen Marie Moning . There is so much going on in the first few chapters it is hard to keep track.

message 824: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) I'm halfway through Shadow's Claim (Immortals After Dark, #13; The Dacians, #1) by Kresley Cole - I took quite a long break in the series after Lothaire's book (I guess I got burned out on Cole's writing), but now I'm remembering why I enjoy her stories and characters so much.

Deborah Wilde Anne wrote: "Finally reading Feversong (Fever, #9) by Karen Marie Moning. There is so much going on in the first few chapters it is hard to keep track."

Yeah. I felt like there was a lot of set up at first but then, for me, it really hit its stride.

Me too!
I got a bunch of library books half of which I disliked. So I am still watching MidSummer Murders which is quite enjoyable! and HGTV...I did manage to finish Clean Sweep
I think I am going to try non-fiction.

Sandra | 4736 comments Fire Touched (Mercy Thompson, #9) by Patricia Briggs finally came out in paperback & I loved it. Adam standing up to the pack on Mercy's behalf, kicking Troll butt, and sadly the stick going out in glory.

I think I remember that one. The author writes with a lot of imagery but it has a really slow pace I think. Still it was a good book.

Yes, it had some slow parts but I listened on audio and Justine Eyre's narration was so good, I didn't really notice that much.

I was actually a bit sad that the stick died. :(

Thethriftybooklady (readingdiva8511) | 109 comments Finished One Grave at a Time (Night Huntress #6) by Jeaniene Frost and of course liked it but it wasn't as action filled so i found it a tiny bit slow. Now I'm trying to read The Turn (The Hollows #0.1) by Kim Harrison but life keeps interfering so I'm only on chapter 2 so haven't quite gotten into it but i know i will when i get the chance to really sit down and read because I love Kim Harrison and The Hollows.

I read the first Elemental assassin and liked it but forgot about that series until recently i need to read the second one for sure.

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments This weekend I finished
Deliver Us From Evil (Seven Deadly Sins #0.5) by Allison Brennan when I read this it was kind of funny at first because I was like oh the demons are bad lol was to much PNR. I liked this one, while I still had a few issues I am looking forward to getting my hands on the next one

Vampire Most Wanted (Argeneau, #20) by Lynsay Sands this one also surprised me I thought it was going to be the usual light and fluffy but this one was kind of dark.

message 845: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (last edited Feb 20, 2017 03:33PM) (new)

Sandra | 4736 comments I'm reading Raphael (Vampires in America, #1) by D.B. Reynolds for some reason I'd never gotten to this series before.

OOh, Dawn, a dark Argeneau book. I'll look forward to that, I'm only on about #10 or #11 I think.

Oh that was a good one! I am not sure how I fell off of that series.

As for Argeneau it was interesting to see the dark side of the no fangers. I bet she got a lot of slack for it

Reading ARC of Bewitching Bedlam by Yasmine Galenorn - great fun so far.
