Marco (zennaro) | 7 comments I noticed that all (or almost all) e-book short stories published by TOR are listed as being 32 pages long. The books are usually of a different length (by a lot!). The same issue affects all eBook vendors (Amazon, B&N, Google play, etc) where the length of the ebook and the one in the description do not match.

Which book length should we use here in goodreads? The *real* number of pages of the file OR the one chosen by the editor?

Examples:
* The Water That Falls on You from Nowhere
Google Play: http://goo.gl/ZlDyq6
Goodreads: http://goo.gl/y0TpC4
* Burning Girls
Google Play: http://goo.gl/tkYaxi
Goodreads: http://goo.gl/78Od73

in both cases they are listed to be 32 pages long, and they are both of a different length.

I can correct those, but I want to know what are the guidelines I should follow.

Z-squared | 8575 comments ebooks generally don't get page numbers on goodreads unless the publisher lists one (and it gets added here via a database import). if the publisher has submitted 32 pages, then there's not much we can do to correct it. it is just too difficult to come to a consensus on how to count ebook pages when everyone's ereader is different and has different settings for font size.

Marco (zennaro) | 7 comments The epub define beginning and end of page in the file itself. It is optional, but it appears to be set in tor.com epub files. That is defined by the publisher and does not depend on the eReader you are using. So in that case, should we refer to the number of pages specified in the file?
