Thanks, Yz - I missed this. Still trying to assess what books I can salvage and what are lost causes from the damage the burst water pipe caused to my bookcase yesterday. I know I definitely won't be reading the rest of the Cassie Palmer series any time soon or Midnight's Daughter - they were literally drowned!!

Finished
. ****I was actually planning on finishing Bloodbound and the anthology first but, eventhough I really like Mercy Thompson, she doesn't call to me like the Brothers do! So I went ahead and let V go first and now I'm reading Phury's story.
Lover Unbound was a good book. I think the transition of the series from PNR to UF starts with this one. The story is layered, very entertaining and the romance 'costars' with the action (in stead of overshadowing it). May I add there wasn't that much sex at all!?! I had expected more of V, but anyway...
I loved V, he's a very intriguing character, right up there with Z. Unlike many people I didn't hate Jane. I was annoyed with the whole "I'm a doctor, I'm a surgeon, I'm a scientist" shit though. But I liked V and her together although I wasn't happy with the deus ex machina Ward pulled at the end. Ah well.. Still VERY entertaining. 4 stars for Vishous.
Mel, that just sucks! I hope you'll get everything cleaned and dry soon. And I'm especially sad you lost the Chance books. I hope you can find replacements in the Emirates. Congrats with finishing the challenge though. :)
Mel wrote: "...May I add there wasn't that much sex at all!?! I had expected more of V, but anyway..."True, true - but the infamous bathroom scene was all V - and hands down the hottest BDB moment, IMHO. ;)
The bathroom scene was... Very. Hot. Indeed. But it almost felt like a compensation for the lack of hot sex in the rest of the book. Really, I felt like the rest of the sex was described in an almost mentioning way: 'they kissed, she came three times, blabla'. The perv in me wants details for crying out loud! ;)

Hi Cherra, I already start Lucinda Darkly :( Uhm... I wish I knew that before. So far I've been enjoying the story. I will definitly go and find the ML Series.
Jenni, Midnight's Daughter is a sort of spin off of the Cassie series. We don't see Cassie and Pritkin but we see most of the vampires. Like Michelle said: you see a whole different side of Mircea and Louis-Cesare (yummmmm) and we see Casanova and Marlowe do really great cameos. It's a great book, you have to read it. The second one, Death's Mistress, is out in January 2010. You can read a sample chapter on Chance's website.

Thanks, Mel and Flib :)
Mel, I bought the Chance books here so I should be able to pick up the replacements okay. If not, I'll just get online and get them from the Book Depository. Free postage - all for that!
I'm running behind with the update - will do it first thing my time tomorrow morning :) Half midnight here and my eyes are drooping and I'm gonna make mistakes if I do it now.
Christ, I just checked the site of book depository. Lover Avenged paperback is only 3,99 in euro's! And I'm paying 10 for my order!

Don't stressed about the updates, Mel. Get your rest. It can wait.
Just letting you know, I appreciate your help very much.

Done! The last book I read was Pleasure by Jacquelyn Frank. I think the author should have left Sagan and Valera's story out. It was only 92 pages. They deserved a more fleshed out story. I think the author knew it too, because she added an unnecessary crisis at the end of Malaya and Guin's story to give Sagan and Valera a quick cameo. I probably would have given it four stars if it had only been Malaya and Guin minus that ridiculous crisis at the end.

But i'll definitely be buying Midnight's Daughter...
YAY!
Mel wrote: "Congrats Arcadia. I'm wondering after seeing your ORANGE book. It's a Dutch title. Do you read Dutch or did you get that edition for the color? "Oh, I wish! It was just for the color. I speak English and a little bit of Czech, but that's as far as I go.
Jenni, Midnight's Daughter is definitely worth reading. And Mircea's brother Radu is adorable enough and quite the scene stealer, so you should enjoy it despite Pritkin's absence. And LC. Well, he's just dee-lish!
Arcadia wrote: "Having only read Touch the Dark, I don't quite understand everyone's Pritkin obsession."I haven't read any of them yet, but from what others have said, I don't think you start feeling the Pritkin love til maybe the 3rd book?

Well, number 2 is on my November list, so I'm getting there :)
Third book is correct, but you may feel twinges in the second. He's horrid in the first, and then he sneaks up on you in quite an astonishing manner, until with book four I was positively panting after him.

Book depository are the best! It's the only way I can even dream about reading half the books I do. Books shops in Australia are very limited.
There is a difference in price between the 2 sites so make sure you check them both out.

Just when I thought the series was getting repetitive, this book delivers something different. I was hesitant reading this book initially, due to all the negative things I had heard about it, but I thought it was brilliant. I see a shift occurring from telling one couple's story, to that of an overall plot. I also liked how the story jumped around. Kept me intrigued. I would have given it an extra half a star if I could have. I'm not sure if the series is getting better, or if I just feel like every book is better than the last.

6 down and 3 to go With 3 books and 4 days left I just might be able to finish this challenge.
Lol!!Well, as much as I now love Pritkin, I have to say that few can eclipse my Eric-lust. That's just too overwhelming to be surpassed. But damn if Pritkin doesn't make a good attempt. In the fourth book? Whew! Hormones in overdrive.
The advantage of Chance vs Harris is we often get more of the dirty details.
And for those whose naughty fantasies Pritkin doesn't wheedle his way into, there's always Mircea. He is Divine in his own right.
Hmmm, Eric. Shower. Award-winning Ass. Gracious Plenty.
::glubglubglub::
Oh, yes, Eric is amazing. I like him with and without his memories, though I must say that his innocence and sweetness when he doesn't know who he is are quite charming. Sigh. Gotta love the viking who is too big for some :D
