K, A Rush of Wings is great. Dark and disturbing indeed. I actually still need to read the sequel but I put it away cause I needed a little more 'lighter' reading. It's a great series though.

I don't know if I can pick a favorite! They all flow into each so well it's like one big long book lol. I actually haven't read Anita Blake but I just picked up a used copy of Guilty Pleasures so I think I might read it next.

Her other books are VERY good. There's only one Steampunk book so far, but I am eagerly awaiting the release of Book 2 in January :) And the rest of the Compass Rose Trilogy is great, too.

They were VERY good. She sucks you right in from page one and keeps you moving right along to the last page. I love her romances because they have lots of secondary characters who go along for the ride right with the main couple. They are fun and fast reads, use them on a challenge and you'll be sure to finish!

Only one down so far this month, I'm so ashamed. Work has just been crazy. Anyway, I love Kim Harrison, and the Rachel Morgan series, but For a Few Demons More, book 5 in the series, was so far the hardest in the series to get into for me. I think her books normally take a little while to get in to, but this one was slow moving almost until the very end in my opinion. I was hoping to see some closure on certain issues that prevail from book to book, and that just wasn't there. I know its a catch 22 when writing a series, but sometimes I think authors just need to end certain storylines one way or another. I don't want to say too much, and ruin for someone who hasn't read it. There were some big changes however that were shocking, and they alone have me looking forward to rest of this series.

I've only read Touch the Dark as well, and I struggled with it until the last few chapters. Big info dump which I found confusing at times. I really liked her short story, Day of the Dead (http://www.karenchance.com/books_dayo...) and I've been told that the rest of the Cassie Palmer series is more along those lines than Touch the Dark's style.
