Welcome, Caitlin. I grew up in Dallas and still have family there. It is much easier to read even serious stuff for fun once you are no longer worrying about covering the assigned reading. And you may find this group leads you to read all sorts of books you would not previously have sought out.

Welcome Caitlin, I too am a new member and have read several books outside my normal reading genre since joining this group. Ask questions as things are a bit overwhelming at first.
Welcome Caitlin - we actually have a few people in YLTO who are related to each other. It's great that you share a love of reading with your mom. I am sure you will find plenty of great books to read through the many challenges and group reads.
Welcome Caitlin! I have to laugh because I'm half watching tv and reading posts right now. The bachelorette is on right now and her name is Caitlin. I heard her name mentioned, looked down at my laptop, and there was your name. Coincidence aside, welcome to YTLO.
Welcome Caitlin! Between the group activities and buddy reads and th ewhat are you reading thread, you'll find plenty of possibilities. Now you have to watch out for overload :)
Hello! I'm Kyana. My favorite weekend routine is definitely turning off my phone and reading a good book for two and a half days straight. I thought it was surprising that this group seems to active! I can't wait to get involved woop woop!I'm currently in Arizona working as a maintainer for the military, but am definitely looking forward to my big move to Georgia within the next few months. My dreams of being an eccentric, sketchbook-toting bookworm hippie will soon be realized!
It's nice to be here. (:
Hi Guys,I am so excited to be here. I haven't really explored Goodreads much until now. I am super happy and am so looking forward to joining you all on your reading adventures!
Welcome Kyana and Jillian! You will both enjoy this group. Kyana, yes, this group is very active! So much going on at all times. It's a lot of fun.Kyana, what is a maintainer?
Welcome Kyana and Jillian! A number of new members have mentioned their surprise that we are so active. Are other GR groups not very active then?!? I have to admit I'm not in that many so I don't know.
Hi Kyana and Jillian. Our variety of activities makes it fun to participate. Sometimes we think we chat as much as we read :)
Hi, my name is Colleen and I'm addicted to reading. I'm also becoming addicted to reading challenges (which is how I found this group). My other addiction is coffee, which really just enables my reading addiction. I live in Baltimore, Maryland and have been a bookworm most my life. I read hard copy books, ebooks and listen to audiobooks - I read a variety of genres but tend to stick with mystery, contemporary, supernatural and scifi the most. I began tracking books read about 10 years ago when I discovered half way through a paperback mystery that I knew the murderer not because it was too formulaic but because I'd read the book before.
I'm looking forward to adding more book chatter to my goodreads.
Welcome Colleen! Yes reading challenges can be pretty addictive and in this group we have the added addiction driver of badges which are awarded when we complete challenges and group reads. Sounds like you'll fit in nicely around here.
Hi everyone! I'm Federica and I live in Milan. I bumped by chance into this group and I had to join immediately! I've always loved reading books and basically reading english books (and watching english movies) is what let me learn english. (well, at least, I pretend to know english)
I'm about to start my last year of college; I'm studying Applied Statistics so reading is one of the few ways I have to escape Maths and numbers for a good couple of hours.
Lately I'm into Ken Follett and John Kerouac but I'm keen to discover new authors/new books to read! I've seen that August's topic is Ancient Rome and I'm thrilled!
I've never been in a book group, hope I'll fit well!
Ciao :)
Welcome, Colleen and Federica. Federica, I'm sure you will fit well, because this group really does have something for everyone.Colleen, I should have read your post yesterday. I accidentally bought a book for the second time. Even reading the sample chapter I couldn't tell if I had read it. I hadn't bought it from Amazon, and I couldn't find it on my physical book shelves, so I bought it from Kindle. After reading your post today, it occurred to me I should have checked good reads. Sure enough, I read it a year ago and only gave it two stars. And late last night I found the paperback on my bookshelves, behind some other books. I think it must have been hiding and giggling.
Welcome Federica! If you are keen to discover new authors and new books, then you'll definitively fit!I don't know if you pretend to know English, but I pretend I'm learning Italian. :)
Welcome Frederica and Colleen! Frederica, everyone fits into this group so I'm sure you will have a great time with us :)
Hi Federica. What a wonderful coincidence that the August themed read is Ancient Rome. Check out our other activities and ask any questions you have - we're always glad to help.
Hi, I'm Crystal. I primarily read for pleasure, but thanks to book clubs I've been able to step out of my comfort zone and read other genres besides gripping suspenseful mystery rrrromances! ;) I recently joined GR and I'm excitedly exploring every book and cranny! ;)
Hello!! I'm Kelly and just joined the group. Like so many of us I have let a mental busy job and home life take over and forgotten to take time to get lost in a good book. I MISS READING!! And finding out what other people take from their reading experiences. So here I am!!
Welcome Kelly. We all like to have a good chat about what we are reading (plus other random stuff). Have fun!
Hi everyone - I'm from Florida - your group appears to be very cool - I'm looking forward to reading and participating with your September book -
Welcome Shawn. I'm looking forward to seeing what the two books will be for September. It's looking quite close in the poll at the moment.
Welcome Crystal, Kelly, and Shawn! This is a fun group and we love reading a wide variety of books. I hope ya'll will enjoy yourselves as much as I do.
Hello, everyone! My name is Brittany, and I'm excited to have found YLTO. I'm a stay-at-home mom to a special needs 20-month-old, and I'm in the middle of trying to complete the 101 Goals in 1,001 Days challenge. One of my goals was to join a book club, and another is to read 143 books over the course of the challenge. I'm waaaay behind on that second part, and I think this group will be exactly what I need to stay motivated and reach that goal. I plan to jump on board with the September books and challenges; I can't wait to see what's in store!
Brittany, this group will certainly help you with some of the goals. It's an active group. I have belonged just a few months and have found the group very friendly too. Welcome
Welcome Brittany! The 101 Goals challenge sounds really interesting. Besides being behind in your reading, how are you doing?
