Hello my name is Richard and I've just joined. I'm from Newcastle in the UK. Looking forward to getting to know everyone through the threads and discussions.
Hi Richard. Welcome. Keep looking around, you will soon see something to strike your fancy and spark a comment or two.
Welcome Richard. Glad you have found us, and look forward to getting to know you as well. We're in the final death throws of our bimonthly readathon so you will see lots of activity in the Toppler threads. If you feel like you can read a book that fits in in the next two days, please feel free to sign up for a team!
Otherwise, there are monthly and yearly challenges and monthly group read books you can check out and see if anything catches your fancy. Enjoy!
Hi, I'm ariane and I'm from belgium; I just discovered this group so I'm looking around for now, but I'll be joining discussions soon
Welcome, Ariane. You'll see this group is very active and warm. We always have many activities going on and a lot of chit chat.
Welcome Ariane! Lovely to have you with us. Please have a dig around and comment or ask questions wherever and as much as you wish.
And please see my comment above to Richard about what's happening in the group this week.
Hi Ariane, I'm a newbie to the group as well. There is much to do and see,but everyone is willing to help if you have questions.
Wow. I've been neglecting this thread while the toppler has been on and I see we have lots of new members. Welcome to you all.
Welcome Richard and Ariane! Ask any questions you might have. We've all been through the newbie stage and everyone's friendly and helpful.
Hi! I'm Liz from Ohio, US. I'm not picky and will read whatever you put in front of me, so I'm excited to read the books selected each month that I may not have heard of before.
Hey Liz, welcome to the group! You should check out the Buddy Reads folder.https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...
Welcome Liz! Having selected books to read each month really has widened my reading horizons. Hope you find some 5 star reads among them.
I am so excited to have found this group. Looking forward to participating in group activities. Oops...my name is Paula. I'm a book addict.
Now I'm off to explore group discussions.

Welcome Paula. This group won't help with book remission - we're all enablers ;-) Hope you find some good books through the group.

Hi Paula, welcome to the group! We love to have fun with our activities, so I'm sure you'll find at least one to join.
Hi. I am Carla, and I am glad I found this group. I have had trouble lately finding books that I have wanted to read. After joining this group last month I have read three from your Bookshelf: Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore, The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry, and I just finished Euphoria!
Welcome, Carla. Run, don't walk, to the Euphoria thread and discuss discuss. You'll get your first badge at the end of the month.Oh, and just a head's up. Your problem of finding books to read is over.
Yes, Carla, you can now trade that problem in for having too many books to read and never knowing what to read next.
Hi Carla! We have fun with our activities, and you'll find yourself adding books without even noticing while seeing what everyone else is reading.
Welcome Carla. I'm glad you've found some good reads since joining. my wishlist has grown a lot since I joined. Yes do check out the group read threads to see what we all thought about those books and throw in your two pennies worth.
It's been a really, really long day. So much so, I didn't read "pennies" correctly and did the biggest double take. I think I need a margarita.
You crack me up. I thought for a minute it might have been a case of autocorrect but no - just your eyes and dirty mind ;-) I would highly recommend the Margherita.
That seems to be happening a lot lately - are some of our members spending too much time in the gutter? ☺

Hi Aditya, and welcome. I look forward to discussing books with you in the various activities we have. Enjoy!
Hello, I'm Ani, 26, and I hope I'll meet fellow book lovers and have great discussions here. :)Unfortunately I'm mostly surrounded by people who don't like to read, so I'm really excited and eager to get to know you all.
Welcome to all the new members! This is a really fun and chatty group so I'm sure you will all enjoy your time with us :)
I haven't checked in here in a long time but I want to welcome all the new members as well! It's a fun group with amazing people. Welcome!
Welcome Ani. Same here - most of my friends, work colleagues and family members don't read books so it's great to be able to chat on here with people who share my love of books. We're an easy going bunch with a varied tastes in genres so you're bound to find someone to chat with about whatever you are reading and hopefully find some good recommendations too.
I am Caitlin and I currently live in the Dallas area. I was a history major and English Lit minor in both undergrad and graduate school so a lot of my reading was devoted to an academic affair. I would then proceed to "binge read" on all of my breaks, on mostly YA literature, but I looked for books that were fun and intriguing but didn't involved too much analyzing. Once I graduated with my Masters I started reading a lot again but then kind of took a break from it because I was never sure what to read since I wasn't looking towards the next assignment. I am super happy to have found Goodreads and I have liked being a part of the group so far. I still primarily read YA so I am looking for more "adult" like books to read as well.
Also, Susan Guard (the one killing it on the series killing challenge- pun intended) is my mom. So I did get a love of reading from her and I hope to one day be as well read as her.
