Bella - I guess I do what you are talking about. I also google a lot when I am reading and look up people and places. It is great to have the internet and You Tube at our finger tips.

After I read Out of Africa (I found it at a garage sale) and loving the movie - one of my top ten favorites of all time, I decicided to look some of the other characters up. It led me to read West with the Night and the Too Close to the Sun: The Audacious Life and Times of Denys Finch Hatton. I wrote reviews for all of them.

Grr! I pre-ordered The Thorn of Emberlain a month or so ago. I just got an email from Amazon to say that the publication date has changed. It's now been pushed back to July 2016!! Well at least they don't take any money until the book is released.

I just ordered which is a prequel for a new series. I also preordered which is the first book in the series and releases September 1st. I loved the Hollows series by Kim Harrison so I am really hoping this one is just as good.

I was curious and started reading the reviews for Anno Dracula, Sarah and Janice. Sounds like a love it or hate it kind of book. It sounds like an interesting storyline for all of the literary references but I don't know about the vampire presence. Will wait for your report. :0)

I love things like What If? I've not read it but I love weird questions as I'm a curious person and I'm always asking questions. I've asked some classics over the years - Do chickens have periods? Do butterflies remember being caterpillars?

A book of this kind my kids loved (I read only a little of it) was The Essential Book of Useless Information: The Most Unimportant Things You'll Never Need to Know

I just bought a book for my partner and in order to qualify for free postage i had to buy some for myself. So i got Jurassic Park and The Andromeda Strain as neither are available on kindle. Also i got Words Will Break Cement: The Passion of Pussy Riot which we'll no doubt both read.

Sarah, I think you will find that Andromeda Strain is kind of dated. Don't get me wrong. I love his writing. I have not read JP yet but I remember AS vividly. Have you watched the movie? It is an oldie but goodie. One of the better SF movies of it's time.

I started listening to the audio of Andromeda Strain and it was old and I couldn't pay attention which is why I got the book. Not seen the film I don't think. Gotta read it through as it's about viruses.

I don't mind filling my kindle up but the boat is a different matter. I know I shouldn't have got them. Come the winter months when the days are shorter and it's dark by 3.30pm I can read all the chunky dead tree books to free up some space. that's the plan anyway.
