CFDeeDee Soon my collection would be as big as yours Lisa LoooL XP

message 653: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I'm not brave enough to count the number of books I have, physically and on my Nook. Doesn't stop me from buying more, but I have slowed down lately.

Camilla | 2117 comments CFDeeDee wrote: "Someone please stop me from buying new books while I still have more than 10 books waiting for me to read them all !! "

ROFL about only 10 books! I have about 200 paper books that I own and haven't read, plus over 420 ebooks that I haven't read. So with only 10 books you get no sympathy from me.

message 655: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Yep! I'm ROFLing too about the 10 books. I have close to 200 at my last look that I haven't read yet. And I still check Amazon daily for deals.

message 656: by Camilla (new)

Camilla | 2117 comments On Tuesday I did some online shopping and ended up with
The Ice Limit
I Do So Worry for All Those Lost at Sea
The Bane Chronicles
Screamscapes: Tales of Terror
East of Mecca

message 657: by CFDeeDee (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60120 comments I have around.... ah, not going to go there. So, to add to my addiction, I bought You for next months group read in Sai King Recommends group and Shattered so that I can complete level 5 in the serial killer challenge.

message 659: by Tasha (new)

Tasha My daughter was out with my mom at the mall the other day and decided to get me a gift card to barnnes & noble (my mom paid for it as my daughter is 8yo and didn't have any money!). She said she knows I love books and she wanted to treat me. cute!

I got The Interestings by Meg Wolitzer Peace Like a River by Leif Enger Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry .

I'm also over on betterwordbooks looking at their flash sale of 40% 5 books or more... I really, really don't need anymore books right now but it's such a good sale!!

message 660: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Ahw, that's so sweet Tasha! :)

Tasha thanks! It was a great surprise. I saw the GC in the bag and she said 'oh that's for you'. <3

message 666: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments I bought You for the Sai King Recommends Group Read.

message 667: by Tasha (new)

Tasha While I ended up not going for the 40% sale at betterworldbooks yesterday I did end up getting books from my library bookstore today:

Moloka'i by Alan Brennert The Ship of Brides by Jojo Moyes Little Bee by Chris Cleave Five Quarters of the Orange by Joanne Harris

Funny thing is that I already have Five Quarters out from the library for the next challenge but decided to get my own copy instead.

message 668: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Yet another purchase. I bought The Magicians.

I put a hold on the library copy, but will not get it until mid-July, unless it's returned early.

It will be about a year before I get to it unless some challenge, toppler, or group read gives it a higher priority. I've got so many books on my TBR that it's taking about that long to make it up to the top of the list.

So what do I do? I buy two more books from Audible's $4.95 sale. I got:
Lock In
Lolita

message 672: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Good choice on Lock In Janice!

I thought I'd better get a copy of The Magicians Camilla as it's looking like it will end up being one of the group reads. And if it isn't, I'll still read it.

Yes, I put a hold on it just for the group read. I try not to buy books that are available through our library, as I buy far more books than I should even when buying only those that are not available as library loans.

Mariab | 3059 comments @Lisa. They have beautiful covers too!!

message 685: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments I don't think it was a daily deal. I checked again today and it's still the same price. I know prices go up and down at different times in different countries. it baffles me.

message 691: by Amanda (Mandy) (new)

Amanda (Mandy) | 762 comments Life After Life Life After Life by Kate Atkinson

I picked this up the other day on the clearance rack at Books A Million for $5. I have so many books to read that I don't know when I will get to it. I just couldn't pass up the bargain though.

message 692: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments $5 was a good price, Amanda and you will be happy to have it whenever you get around to reading it, I hope. It is a little strange at first, but keep at it. It is worth it. We did a group read so look for the old thread when you get to it. :0)

message 693: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (lisathebooklover) | 9244 comments I picked up two more books:

The First Man in Rome The First Man in Rome (Masters of Rome, #1) by Colleen McCullough

message 699: by Lisa (new)
