I finished The Forgotten Garden which I really enjoyed. It was my first Kate Morton book and definitely will not be my last.Between now and the start of the toppler I am going to read One Hundred Ways for a Cat to Train Its Human. It's nice and short so should be perfect pre-toppler reading.
Another good book by her is The Secret Keeper, I haven't read the Forgotten Garden yet, but I own it :-)
Has anyone read The Book Thief? I'm on the app so I can't add a link :(I'm watching the movie and it is quite interesting so was wondering if the book is the same.
Thanks, Travis! I have had a hard time with audios (being able to pay attention) but am trying one for the toppler (Anne of green gables) so hopefully it goes better this time :)
Sandra wrote: "Dem, the link is not working. I think you typed a space in the middle."Thank you Sandra.
I just finished A Land More Kind Than Home. Every time I try to say how I feel about it, I can't find the words. Highly recommended.
Roz wrote: "Lisa, my favorite Kate Morton books are The Distant Hours and The House at Riverton."Glad to hear you recommend these Roz :) I have The House at Riverton sitting on my TBR pile and The Distant Hours is currently on my wishlist.
I finished One Hundred Ways for a Cat to Train Its Human. It was a fun, humorous little book packed full of anecdotes about our furry friends. I think it would make a purrfect (sorry, couldn't resist) gift for cat lovers everywhere. I gave it 4 stars.
I agree The Distant Hours is a really good reading too. The House at Riverton is her first novel. A friend just lend it to me last week so I plan to read it soon.
I'll be starting two books today, both for the Toppler - Wayward and Crow Lake.It just occurred to me that Kakagi Lake, where we spent a lovely summer week camping a number of years ago, is also known as Crow Lake. Kakagi Lake is in Ontario and the book is set in Ontario. It will be interesting to see if they are the same lake.
Oops - I had the Wikipedia page up about Kakagi Lake as I was typing my post above. I just scrolled further down the page and it reads, "Although the book is set in Northern Ontario, Crow Lake is not actually about Kakagi (Crow) Lake." I guess that answers that question.
I am reading Life After Life but will put this on hold for the toppler.I will be starting at noon: Made to Be Broken and The Miracle at Speedy Motors (audio); both for the toppler and the series challenge.
So I'm just starting So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish in an effort to close in on my first serial killer level. And, I'm listening to the audio book of Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe because I've wanted to read it for a while, and fits in with the February Challenge. I'm still reading Middlemarch and I really like the story, but the book is longer than I realized, and am having to set it aside as my "Sunday Only" book, so I can press forward with the other books I've committed to reading this year.

Reading Ready Player One for the toppler. Am pleasantly surprised at how good it is, and I'm not a gamer. I'm totally caught up in the story.
Debra, I'm not a gamer either, and I loved that book so much, I couldn't put it down. It became and instant favorite.
Currently reading Dollbaby for the toppler. So far, it's really good. I've read a few books in this genre lately though, so I'm glad that my next book, The Wonder of All Things, is a different topic. I also want to read Ready Player One. I keep hearing great things about it.

I am working my way through Toby's Room for the toppler. No complaints so far. It also works for my World War One mini project which is good.
Debra wrote: "Reading Ready Player One for the toppler. Am pleasantly surprised at how good it is, and I'm not a gamer. I'm totally caught up in the story."It is very good. If you are not a gamer, but know a little of 80´s memes, is yet more fun
Berit wrote: "Just finished The Giver, has anyone read the whole series? Was wondering if it was worth it or not."What a concidence! I just finised it too, and was wondering if if it was worth reading the whole series
Mariab wrote: "Reading Anne of Green Gables for the Toppler"I just finished Anne of Green Gables, and I thought it was delightful, and as I've been reading a lot of sci fi, supernatural, and fantasy, it was a great change of pace.
For the Anne of Green Gables readers: there's now a kindle deal for a Anne of Green Gables boxed set containing 10 books for $0.99. I have Anne of Green Gables on my TBR and I'm considering buying this.
Just finished number 19 and starting number 20 of the Stephanie Plum books. I have a question for any other fans ranger or Joe? I think I pick Joe, but I don't know if I always make the right choices :-) ;-)
I would pick Joe too :-) I love Ranger's character but love Joe just a tad more! Aren't those books amazing!! Love the series :-)
Stephanie wrote: "I would pick Joe too :-) I love Ranger's character but love Joe just a tad more! Aren't those books amazing!! Love the series :-)"Good ! Ranger is mine..... ;)
I finished Toby's Room earlier today. It was thought provoking and quite harrowing at times but I enjoyed it a lot. I have now made a start on my second toppler book, Jackaby.
I finished Two Old Fools In Spain Again. Now it's time for bed, tomorrow I'll start with Can't Wait to Get to Heaven
I have finished Anne of Green Gables. I was pleasantly surprised with the audio version. I remember as a kid not being able to get into the book version. I liked the audio a lot better.
