No, I scrolled all the way through but nothing looked right. I do think the main character was called Miranda though.

It's set in the US, I think New York state or city. I think her parents had split up. She has these dolls that are maybe colonial dolls, or Little House on the Prairie-era potentially, and she created these vivid stories for them all in her head. If I recall correctly, she was deemed a bit too old to be playing with dolls. One of her parents, or perhaps the new love interest of a parent, tried to connect with her by buying her some doll related item but it was too modern to go with the stuff she had. I think a parent takes her to FAO Schwarz where she buys something small but more fitting.
I thought the title was The Secret Family, but all my searches with that title have been fruitless.
Can anyone help??
