question, The Amaranth Enchantment seems to be a retelling to me, but I'm not sure of what. does anyone know for sure either way?

Also, I doubt it, but would you consider Aurelia a Fairy tale?

I've read Fairest, but what is it a retelling of? I haven't read the other two, so what are they about? No, I don't think Aurelia is a fairy tale or a retelling. xD

lolz. I like it too. great book. xD
It's not really snow white. it's more of a 'finding your inner beauty' or something like that

i'd love to read that one, but mom would throw a fit cuz of the cover. :(
Are you looking for strictly retold fairy tales or just books with a fairy-tale fantasy feel?
I was just wondering.
Fairest is a loose retelling of "Snow White". As with Ella Enchanted, the strong fairy tale elements start emerging at the end of the novel.
Why have you added Inheritance? They're epic fantasy, not fairy-tale fantasy.

I'm sorry. I guess I was thinking more along the lines of retellings on that one, not fairytale retellings. crap! I did that on quite a few books. should leave them and and make the group be about retellings in general or should I just delete them?
It's the Inheritance Cycle, properly (I wonder if that means it will just start all over after the fourth book...), but yes. :-)
I'm going to say that about a third of the books have nothing to do with fairy tales and/or are not retellings. So what about going with a more general "Fairy Tales and Retellings"?
Like, I, Coriander is not a retelling of a fairy tale, but it has a fairy-tale novel feel. Nobody's Princess is not a fairy-tale novel and it isn't exactly a retelling either, but it deals with Helen of Sparta before she was Helen of Sparta, so it kind of fits.

pretty much. xD Are you guys gonna add any topics? I'm not the only one who can and I don't know really where interests lie. xD

i haven't read the others to be able to say for certain.
i loved nobody's princess and nobody's prize! di you know that the author has written another book? it's called Sphinx's Princess. it's not another in the series, but it sounds good. i just got it out of the library
lolz. I just got Sphinx's Princess from the library too!
Thanks. xD does anyone know what Keturah and Lord Death is?

It's not a retelling. It reads a lot like a folk tale, though.

i loooooooooveeee the Nobody's Princess series. it's amazing. doesn't really count as a retold fairy tale though, does it? :(
anyway, i think there's a third book to the series, rae, but i could be wrong. the loved the ending, even though it wasn't the same ending as in the greek tales.

and i can't wait to read Sphinx's Princess. I'm not reading it at the moment because I decided that I should probably read Distant Waves A Novel of the Titanic and Ash first since i've had them out for about a month or so. lolz. i'm on Distant Waves.

*slaps head* i've been doing this a lot lately. making up third/fourth/fifth books in a series and confusing everyone. sorry!!!!
the books good so far?

Rae: what I'm wondering is if she's still writing it. it could just not be out yet.

idk. but she is in the process of writing the sequel to Sphinxes Princess ((it was so fah-reaking amazing!!!!))

it was. i loved it. it's historical fiction. it's based on the real-life (obviously) event of the titanic and everything, but has a bunch of fictional elements to it.

i wish our library would get Sphinxes Princess! *sob*

what did you rate it?

I have read Princess of the Midnight Ball. I liked it, but I didn't think it was all that great, honestly.
Thanks, thought I already know about Princess of Glass. Did I really not add Princess of the Midnight Ball to the bookshelf? thanks for reminding me. xD

i think i gave it a five

Ditto. her Dragon Slippers series was better.

Def a good read then. :) Ty!

How about Deerskin? It is a very different retelling but quite a strong one!"
oh, i heard some bad reviews about deerskin from a friend.... :-\
