CarsonGrey Honestly one of the best novels I've read in ages. As someone struggling in his writing it really spoke to me, it really hit me on a personal level. I love how easily I could follow the story desite the complexity of the mystery, I remember all the characters, Barcelona and Spain in general feel really at home and familiar and the central mystery... this is a novel that needs to be read completely absolutely blind. It's SO bittersweet yet at the same time so funny and https://omegle.onl/ https://discord.software/ heartwarming. The author has the ability to turn the ordinary everyday imagery one encounters into something really nightmarish, or really dreamy, or really epic.

It was recommended to me years ago by one of the very few passionate booksellers in my country, a middle aged woman who runs a small secondhand bookshop who told me that this novel and David Ball's The Sword and the Scimitar as her two favorite novels of all time. True, I went through a long period afterwards of creative degeneration that I've only started to pick up after I came here to England but I'll always remember her words.

In essence, I haven't had so much fun reading a book in a long time.

It’s a brilliant book, isn’t it? Try the others in the series, it’s a great story. 😁

Yaja Gomez gonzalez I've just read it and it's definitely a great book. I've really enjoyed it

Marisa I absolutely loved The Shadow of the Wind. I just finished Labyrinth of Spirits and am blown away. I feel so sad to part with these beloved characters. I know Zafón says you can read them in any order but I’m so happy that I read them all in order because now it feels like I was part of solving a big mystery of the underground library and the characters linked to it.

Jean-Pierre Laevaert Great writer. Sorry to hear that Ruiz Zafon has past away today

Tom Riley Yes very sad, I hadn't realised he was ill. This series of books are my favourites and Shadow of The Wind is one of the best. Very sad we won't get any more books from him :'(

Ashley Justice The author died yesterday? How sad! May he rest in peace. What a wonderful writer!

Lakshmy Menon Nair Amazing read indeed! I liked this book more than 100 years of solitude

Sandra My all time favorite! I got the book from a friend a long time ago. She said the book is "magical". She was not wrong. Absolutely MAGICAL! I read all of them and they are all equally good , but Shadow of the Wind is the one I carry close to my heart .

Philippa Kaye Isn't it wonderful and his most famous but all his other books are definitely worth a read, beautifully written, all of them. I think he has to be one of my favourite authors, I can't believe when he died last year there was hardly a mention.

The Cruciverbalistic Bookworm Beautifully written book. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Sad to hear such a brilliant author passed away last year...

Teachers Travelers Excellent description of The Shadow of the Wind. The whole trilogy is really awesome, but this novel is truly a jewel. Check out "The Long Night of the White Chickens" if you feel like reading something more earthy. Happy reading! #TeachersTravelers
