I love those shelves.... I'm a volunteer at Vinies one day a week and you know, they can't keep all the books given, so many have to be thrown away which is sad

That is sad Sharon. I've recently given 6 boxes of good quality paperbacks to the Salvos after several secondhand stores turned them down - all recent reads in great condition. I wonder if paperbacks will end up becoming collectibles like records in another 20y or so.
Myabe, it wouldn't suprise me. There are some guys here, that pick up unwanted books, I think hardcovers, then they turn them in pot plants. Somehow waterproof the books, and put little flowers in them. They are doing okay with it, people pick them preserving the outercasing and hte spine.
11. Live to Tell by Lisa Gardner 4★A suspenseful mystery set against the background of a children's pysch ward.

12. Dearly Devoted Dexter by Jeff Lindsay4★Love the dark, sardonic humour of Dexter!

Sharon wrote: "That ones sounds a little scarey?"More chilling than scary. Clearly Gardner spent some time researching the range of problems the kids had either as a result of abuse, neglect or mental illness and the extent these problems would have on their families and future lives.

Just stumbled across your challenge. Good luck Carolyn, I love that you added the pic! Also funny and necessary that we all add the few up on top, vertically. Any which way. Good luck! May the reading be great ;)
Thanks Suzanne! I found they were being overlooked for challenges when they were stuck in boxes under the bed. They don't all fit in there yet but it's much better now that I can see them and I'm enjoying picking a new one to read each week.
Very good idea Carolyn, as it's dangerous what can be forgotten. In my instance it's the green cloth shopping bags in the garage. Only a couple but food for thought as they will inevitably be overlooked..

Thanks Brenda - trying to read one per week to keep on track! They're my bedtime reading so it can take me a while to get through one.
I have to go and see if I can find a new SF or Fantasy one to start to fit this month's challenge :)
18. The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents by Terry Pratchett 4★A fun kids/YA story set in Discworld. Lots of fun with dancing, talking rats, evil rat catchers and a strange girl with a vivid imagination called Malicia.
