SOLVED. LGBTQ+ novel, Relationship between a famous thief and a detective. [s]

I read this between 2009 - 2012. This novel is about a famous thief and a law enforcement agent/officer. When I read this novel, it was posted on the internet or the "blog" of the author. I'm not quite sure if it is published or anything. The thief stole precious gems, painting and such. The detective/agent (I forgot which) has a team which their "mission" is to catch the thief. If I remember it correctly, somewhere on the plot the thief "help" or "collaborate" with the detective team.
