C | 5 comments About a brother and sister, brother is younger that goes into the forest in the back of their house overnight. Sister follows one night find a hole where underground troll-like creatures and finds her brother among them.

Child's novel. Maybe even middle school. Definitely not beyond middle.

No. It was probably early to mid 90s

No. There was no magic.
I remember the underground creatures were able to trade body parts by sewing them on each other.

It was a younger sister, guess I misremembered that. But this is it.
