Fables, Vol. 1 Legends in Exile by Bill Willingham

Finished 9/9/15

Not my favourite style of comic, as it all felt a bit dated. I honestly loved the last story though (which was a prequel.)

Trouble Is a Friend of Mine by Stephanie Tromly

Finished 9/12/15

I loved this book so much. It was funny and smart and kept me guessing. Digby and Felix were both awesome. What did I not love? The ending. It left major stories not wrapped up. But now I know there is a sequel coming and I'm coming down off the ledge a bit...

*One of my favorite books this year.*

Saga, Volume 1 by Brian K. Vaughan

Finished 9/13/15

This was so, so odd but also really intriguing. It totally pulled me in. I cared about the characters and wanted to know what happened. Weird but good.

Crazy, crazy, crazy. Further down the rabbit hole we go.

Savage Drift (Monument 14, #3) by Emmy Laybourne

Finished 10/17/15

A good final book in the series. So much happened in this one and it was both sad, suspenseful and hopeful. I think the author did a great job of keeping things realistic. Love these characters.

Morning Glories, Vol. 6 Demerits by Nick Spencer

Finished 10/17/15

Not my favorite of the series (violence to animals is a big turn off for me) but still a good read.

Definitely! I actually just finished Vol 2 and that one really hooked me.

Cassandra | 5832 comments Jenn, congratulations on reading way above your original challenge goal! What do you think motivated you to read more than you thought you would?

Thanks! I happened across a bunch of Read-a-Thons this summer on twitter and wound up enjoying those and taking part in quite a few. Also doing different challenges helped as well, as it gave me some focus.

message 65: by Cassandra (new)

Cassandra | 5832 comments Oh, that sounds interesting! How do the read-a-thons work?

message 66: by Jenn (new)

Jenn | 128 comments I found them on Twitter. If you look up Casual Read-A-Thon that's my favorite. There are challenges if you want to do them or you can just read whatever. It's pretty fun.

Jenn | 128 comments Book #56

The Most Important Meeting In My Life by Max Skolnik (Monument 14, Short Story) by Emmy Laybourne

Very sweet. I really love Max.

Jenn | 128 comments Book #57

The Unwritten, Vol. 1 Tommy Taylor and the Bogus Identity by Mike Carey

Finished 12/27/15

I didn't like this much at all at the first but it got better. Some of the back story and the history really intrigued me. I'll probably read more to see where it goes. Surprisingly good.

Jenn | 128 comments Book #58

Preacher, Vol. 1 Gone to Texas by Garth Ennis

Finished 12/29/15

So weird. Very violent and odd. I liked the idea and the premise was really interesting.

Jenn | 128 comments Book #59

Morning Glories, Vol. 9 Assembly by Nick Spencer

Finished 12/30/15

This moved so quickly and wove more mystery and more questions into the crazy plot. Love it!

Hunger (Riders of the Apocalypse, #1) by Jackie Morse Kessler

Finished 12/31/15

This book was awesome! I spotted it at a booksale and kept coming back to it and finally picked it up. I ended up starting it that night when I got home. It was funny, heartbreaking and just honestly beautiful. I've never read another book like it.
