What did you think of this? I have read both of them. I think they're good, but not my usual cup of tea!

My things got delayed again, but now I finally have all my possessions and only a few are damaged. Phoenix better be awesome (and it might just be that as there is a used bookstore that has a bar inside!!) because I don't think I can handle moving again for a really long time.

Ok, so I just got an email from PaperbackSwap saying that they are going to start charging $0.49 per swap unless you sign up for a year membership. I have decided that I am no longer going to be a member of the site and will not be able to offer credits as a prize for the challenges. It's very rare that I use the site anymore anyway since most of the books I read are ebooks. And, usually, if there's a book that I want badly enough to actually get the "real" book, I'll just buy it from the store.

So, with that said, I'm asking for your thoughts on the second place prize. I use Bookmooch even less than PBS, but I do still have a crapload of credits on that site. Should I continue to use that for the prize and maybe offer three or four credits instead of two? Should I offer up two books from my own personal collection of books, or should I do something else? I'm open to ideas. Just please keep in mind that I'm trying to be as cost effective as possible with it.

Welcome to Arizona Nicole! I moved here about 10 years ago and love it (except for the summers, lol).

I liked this book, it kind of reminded me of a lighter version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I think I'll give the second book a read. I don't typically read these types of books either but I venture out once in a while.

Nicole (nicole21) | 573 comments Thanks Tina! I've been warned about the summers and am not looking forward to the 100+ days without end, but am really enjoying this winter. Any recommendations on places to visit? I'd never even been to AZ until my job interview.

I basically treat the summers like other people treat the winters. I stay in a/c and shade as much as possible. Be sure to wear sunscreen regularly and drink lots of water.

This time of year is what we look forward to here. There are plenty of outside things to do. If you like to hike there are plenty of options around. If you like baseball, next month is spring training and there are many teams here. If you have a free weekend, you may want to drive up to Sedona to see the beautiful nature sights. There's always the grand canyon too, which I still haven't been to yet.

That being said, since I'm obviously not going to win anyway, can I use I Am Pusheen the Cat for the nonhuman character?? ;) Please? It counted towards my Goodreads reading challenge! :)

Thanks for weighing in on the prize question Alicia and Suzanne, I do want to keep the $10 gift card for the top prize, but yeah, maybe I'll skip giving out any others.

With that said - Jencey, I still have your books in my car to mail, I just haven't made it to the post office. Should I hold off until you find a new place and get settled?
