If anyone is still looking for a book to read, Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson is quite the tear-jerker.

But Where the Red Fern Grows broke my son. OHGOODHEAVENS. We werent even allowed to talk about it. ALL of us were crying but he was SOBBING.
I read The Road based on a Goodreads list of books that made you cry. I didnt cry. But the book was good. And I love McCarthy. And I can mark another Pulitzer off my list.

My biggest problem with this prompt is that, in general, I don't /want/ to read books that will make me cry. It's hard to find a book that's supposed to make me cry that I also am excited to read.

My book didn't fit into the "cry from sadness" category, but "cry from happiness or from beauty." I'm a sap and get teary during holiday commercials though. I really don't think you have to literally cry, but be emotionally moved by it.

It is weird how that happens sometimes. As I recall, that part of Yes, Please made me tear up a little too.

I couldn't find a book that actually made me cry either. I read several that are touching or sad, books that *most* people say makes them cry so I think I made a good effort! I settled on a book that made me very sad - Where the Red Fern Grows.
