I've just started reading The Silver Linings Playbook. If I don't finish it until the new year I'll be using that!Otherwise, The Mystery of the Blue Train by Agatha Christie.
Nathan wrote: "I'm using Wolf in White Van by John Darnielle."I might be using this one too. I just got it on reserve from the library.
I'm thinking A Clockwork Orange, but I'm not really sure.
David wrote: "I'm thinking A Clockwork Orange, but I'm not really sure."Excellent choice! It's a really good book, especially if you like dystopian fiction.
David wrote: "I'm thinking A Clockwork Orange, but I'm not really sure."Ooh I hadn't thought of that one. Good suggestion! I may have to add that one to my list! Thanks!
I think I'm going with Rose Madder. It's a re-read for me but it's been over a decade (or 2) since I read it last.
I just finished "White Bird in a Blizzard" by Laura Kasischke. I'm not sure how I feel about this book. On one hand I liked parts but other parts I disliked a lot.
Nathan wrote: "I'm using Wolf in White Van by John Darnielle."I'm very interested to see your review of this book Nathan! It was recommended on my public library's website and I scooped it up. I just finished it; I found it to be a good read but a VERY confusing one!

I just finished "Wolf in White Van" by John Darnielle; it was recommended on the website for my public library and I thought the premise sounded really interesting.Finishing the book was like coming out the other side of a maze that twists and turns; as soon as you feel like you know which way you're going, you feel like you've been going the wrong way the whole time!
I'm hoping other participants will choose this selection as I'm anxious to hear how others feel about it!
I too just finished Wolf in White Van. I didn't feel like there were so many twists and turns as we were just being denied the information about how his face was deformed. That was doled out one little bit at a time. His recovery was interspersed with some bits from the time before his injury and info from Trace Italian. It wasn't linear but it didn't feel like plot twists to me.
Anne wrote: "I too just finished Wolf in White Van. I didn't feel like there were so many twists and turns as we were just being denied the information about how his face was deformed. That was doled out one ..."Perhaps I didn't explain what I was trying to say very well...I agree with you completely in that there weren't plot twists, more that I just couldn't seem to wrap my head around what was going on half the time. I would have moments of clarity and then a few pages later feel as though I had no idea at all what was going on.
I've since read several reviews here and other places online that have put some things in more perspective and certainly given me more to consider.

SNAP!! It appears to be a popular choice.
Either that or 'Fifty Shades of Grey'?? ;)
I might reread Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery. It's one of my favorite books and I haven't read it in a couple of years. I love Anne.
I read Scarlet by Marissa Meyer. It could count for several prompts. As of now, I am using it for this one. It was a good second entry in the series.
Jennifer wrote: "I read Scarlet by Marissa Meyer. It could count for several prompts. As of now, I am using it for this one. It was a good second entry in the series."I also have chosen Scarlet for this category.
I'm planning of rereading Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe by Fannie Flagg. I don't remember much about the plot but that I absolutely loved it in high school and I just so happen to own a copy of it - there's even recipes on the back which I'll definitely give a go at them once I'm done as a reward xD.
Purple is my favorite color, so I plan on reading The Color Purple. I know it doesn't have to be your favorite color, but I just wanted it to be.
I read When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit by Judith Kerr, a book I'd been meaning to read for many years. I'm glad I did; it was great.
Kerryann wrote: "I read roses are red(Alex Cross #6) by James Patterson all he's books are very good"That's my next Alex Cross book as well. I love those books!
I was going to read A Spool of Blue Thread but I remembered that I recently picked up Anne of Green Gables at my local Goodwill. I also just ordered Wolf in White Van but with it being a short book I may be using it for the book read in one day.
I just bought Green Girl by Kate Zambreno, I had heard good things about it and found it as a Kindle deal last week.
I just finished The Red Market, which was fabulous. The Red Market "explores the shadowy but lucrative global marketplace for blood, bones and organs."

Chris wrote: "I read "brown girl dreaming" by Jacqueline Woodson."I've been listening to that. It's wonderful.
Lawzdot wrote: "I am also going to read the colour purple. Been meaning to read it for ages."I did read that one for this challenge as I'd also been meaning to read it for quite a while as well.
Linden wrote: "I read The Yellow Wallpaper and Other Stories, super quick but definitely an interesting read."The Yellow Wallpaper is fantastically well done and disturbing.
