For a trilogy, I just read the first book: When Gravity Fails
by George Alec Effinger.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Decided to ho with the Karla trillogy which consists of "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" , "The Honorable Schoolboy", and "Smiley's People" by John LeCarre. I chose this because I picked up "Smiley's People" at a flea market then realized I needed to read the other 2 first.
I'm probably either going to read the Shatter Me trilogy or the The Selection trilogy because I've heard so much about them. I've also been considering The Lord of the Rings trilogy though.
I'm thinking of reading Mary Stewart's Merlin series (The Crystal Cave, The Hollow Hills, and there's a third). My dad's been after me for years to read these! It's too bad they aren't available for Kindle!

I'm tossing up between the Night Angel trilogy by Brent Weeks, the Maze Runner trilogy by James Dashner, or the Once Were Warriors trilogy by Alan Duff mainly because I own all the books for all three of those trilogies and have never read any of the them (aside from the the very first book of the Duff one a few years ago, I'd need to re-read that one if I go with that particular trilogy).
I read the Wayward Pines trilogy by Blake Crouch for this prompt. The new series for TV was looking like it might be interesting so I decided to read the books first, and I've got to say I was pretty impressed. Pines, Wayward, The Last Town
Just finished the last book of the Marid Audran trilogy: The Exile Kiss
by George Alec Effingerhttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I finished The Earthsea Trilogy, by Ursula LeGuin the other day (A Wizard of Earthsea, The Tombs of Atuan, and The Farthest Shore). The books were originally released as a trilogy between 1968 and 1970, but after 1990 a couple more books were added to the series. Books one and three had a similar feel, travelling by sea in search of something evil. The source of the evil is different in each book. I think LeGuin showed wonderfully the weakness that can be found within all of us. In the third book, The Farthest Shore, she handled the topic exceptionally deftly. It was my first experience with this author and I can see why she is such a respected Sci-Fi/Fantasty author. I'll probably check out the other Earthsea novels in the future.
For this prompt I read my favorite book(s) - "The Lord of the Rings" by J.R.R. Tolkien. I read this every year around the christmas/new year's holidays. Guess this year I will be reading it twice.
Because of my desire to read all the Pulitzer's (fiction) I went with The Growth Trilogy. Which was a HUGE mistake. The Magnificent Ambersons was the second book and the Pulitzer winner...I dont know who was on the judging panel that year but they must not have read that book.
Unfortunately/fortunately the third book was not on kindle and appeared to be out of print so I didnt read it. BUT it still counts. (I considered all the other books I've read this year including other books in other trilogies.)
I read a YA fantasy series about an orphan becoming a king: The Ascendance Trilogy by Jennifer Nielsen
Figured I would get one last one in before the 2015 discussions are archived! I know a lot of you are thinking about these books for the 2016 challenge, so I thought I'd add my two cents.
I read the Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children trilogy by Ransom Riggs! I picked up the first book in the series for the "Set in your hometown prompt" as the author went to my high school and set the beginning of the novel there. When I found out it was a trilogy I decided to use it for this prompt as well! The books are pretty interesting. I love the idea of using found photos to tell a story. That being said it does have some YA cliches and I could've done without the romantic relationship tbh, but I'm glad I read all three books and would definitely recommend them to others!
Happy Reading Everyone!!!
