I read this book about 2017-2018, as in the title, its about a boarding school that has its own tv show, and students are "cut" based on popularity. Viewers watch and can only follow one student at a time(cameras are mounted like security cameras) and the viewer count per student is recorded live to keep track of student popularity. I remember there being a strict 8pm bedtime and students sleeping in sleep pods, and being fed a sleeping pill that makes you sleep exactly 12 hours.
