HomeInMyShoes Another book, and another series completed!

Catherynne M. Valente's In the Cities of Coin and Spice. Just wow. Those two books are everything that is great about folklore and fable and myth and and and...

Lots of points for that, with the review, it be 63 points. Arrhhhh. No idea why I be talking like a pirate.

HomeInMyShoes Another series book complete. The Last Hero by Terry Pratchett. Out of order penalty for this one, but I needed something to read and this was at the library and illustrated to boot. Had to pass that up.

10+27-3+0-9, no review, no complete, no abandonment so 25 points. Bringing us to 425 experience points.

message 59: by HomeInMyShoes (new)

HomeInMyShoes Doing pretty good actually. Fourteen series books read, three series finished and two series started. Seven open series and two are in a current state.

message 60: by HomeInMyShoes (new)

HomeInMyShoes Another series book read. The Fourth Bear by Jasper Fforde. Lots of fun and lots of experience points. This puts me up-to-date with the Nursery Crimes series, although there is another book coming out some time.

HomeInMyShoes Been a long time since I read a series book. Not really the way to get things cleared off, especially since this is a post for a newly started series. DOH!

I'm going to use that new series damage prevention elixir for this one. But that's going to leave me with no elixirs on that front. Stupid DM is such a skinflint when it comes to drops. :P

Anyway, Jasper Fforde's Thursday Next series and the first book The Eyre Affair. Lots of fun. Four stars. I'm looking forward to having this series around as a go to when in a pinch series.

Book n: 10 + 1- 5 + 0 + 0
Complete: 0
Review: 20 + 5
New: 0 (elixir)

31 experience points.

502 experience and level 5!

Rolled a nine and DM bequeathed me a replacement new series elixir. That was lucky.

HomeInMyShoes Eighteenth series book this year.

The Boy Who Lost Fairyland by Catherynne M. Valente. A fine read. Three stars.

This catches me up on Fairyland, but its not a series finish as there is another book scheduled to come out (the last one apparently.)

Book n: 10 + 4 - 1 + 3 - 0
Complete: 0
Review: 20 + 19 (woohoo for that roll)
New: 0

Total: 55 experience points (best experience to read time ratio ever)

Still a level five sock puppet.

HomeInMyShoes An update on currently open series:

Fairyland - 100% complete (new book forthcoming)
Brenner - 100% complete (awaiting translations)Nursery Crimes - 99.2% complete (new book forthcoming)
Discworld - 64.1% complete
Young Wizards - 62.4% complete
Laundry Files - 39.8% complete
Odd Thomas - 30.3% complete
Thursday Next - 25.7% complete

I guess I only have six open series really. If I could find a copy of the short for Nursery Crimes I'd be down to five.

Pfffft. :P

I found the short for Nursery Crimes on the Guardian's website. So I'm down to five really open series.

I also finished up
Lost in a Good Book which is book two of Thursday Next.

To be up-to-date in the experience department, The Locked Room Mystery mystery netted 12 experience points and Lost in a Good Book netted 40 experience points.

Still a level five sock puppet. When do I get some sort of special super power?

message 67: by HomeInMyShoes (new)

HomeInMyShoes It's a big one. Interesting Times by Terry Pratchett.

49 points for this one which brings me to level 6. I rolled a lousy two extra stat points.

Intelligence: 0
Clairvoyance: 21
Dexterity: 22
Strength: 10

Elixirs
50% new [1]

I'd really like another new elixir. I really would. I've been good. Stupid DM never gives random drops.

I'm mad you still have 0 intelligence, lol.

message 69: by HomeInMyShoes (new)

HomeInMyShoes Since I've been writing reviews intelligence might help (+1 points for every review written.) Of course being a sock puppet means I should really just create a few someone else's to agree with whatever I say to give the illusion of intelligence. And since strength gives me an extra point for every book I finish, it's less work.

Never underestimate the gigantic hammer when negotiating.

HomeInMyShoes Another series book. I even wrote a two sentence review. Didn't get me to another level though.

Maskerade by Terry Pratchett. I don't know where I'm going to find big points after I finish Discworld. 51 points for this one. Some of them are probably going to be worth 70 points in the end. Can you say LEVEL UP?
