I think the girls texted each other on flip phones or something so I would assume it's from the 00's - I must have read it around 2005. It was part of a series of books about a group of perhaps 12-13 yo girls. I think there was a lot of "X is in love with this guy but her friend Y is flirting with him", "my mum is so stupid and doesn't understand anything", descriptions of flavoured lipgloss, and outrageous 00's teen fashion. At one point they went camping/on a trip and one of the more confident girls said she would teach the others, or one of the others, how to make out. So obviously, since you can't possible have girls kissing each other, they opted to make out with a stuffed moose. It was very upsetting. They might have put lipgloss on the moose's lips? Either way they got in some sort of trouble at the camp/school trip after kissing the moose and were possibly sent home or put in detention. I have the image of myself making out with the head of a moose completely ingrained in my brain fifteen years later and I absolutely need to read that bit again to prove that this was in fact something I read in a book and not an actual real life memory of something I did as a young teenager. I read it in a Swedish translation, but I am almost completely sure that it was originally in English.
