1. Why an adult novel? Are you growing up with your fans or your mind just wrote this book and it was "adult"?
2. It is a matter of much debate in book forums. How you define the difference between adult and YA?
3. Carve the Mark duology Q: The book centered around a prophecy. How much thought did you put into balance being too predictable vs too opaque? I was surprised by the ending, but one of my friends called it way early.
4. Divergent trilogy Q: How did you handle the hate mail about the final ending? Would you re-write it if you had a chance?

Actually enjoyed reading the Divergent series - and seeing the movies (read the first 2 then cheated and went to the 3rd movie w/o reading the last book) ... heard the fourth movie got stalled - maybe they can film it and put it up on one of the many streaming services (like Hulu)?
Was reading some Stars Wars books/novels by an author (Claudia Gray) that was writing at the YA level and also started writing for Adult market. Did you have to consciously make the plots a bit more intricate? I actually sought out YA books and you might laugh when you have this story read to you : "When I was reading/and listening to Ms. Gray on my commute into DC (both car and subway), I had to constantly rewind the audio versions of Adult level books because either of noise on the subway or I was driving to the subway station) but with the YA books - it was easier to follow along! Less 15 sec rewinds. Again - did you have to consciously change something about your writing style when going from YA to adult?
We'll be interviewing Veronica Roth this week to talk about her first adult novel, Chosen Ones! Please post your questions here!
