The Amazing Race Team Challenge - Books on the Run (16)
Been working a lot of hours the last few days, but am looking forward to a long holiday weekend where I can relax. Am working on my book, may finish it this evening.
Glad you are ok! I'm freakin' paranoid when people go silent now. *sigh*Do you have any plans for the weekend? We are going to grill at home and watch movies since there's little else we can do at this point.
Yup sorry - had a couple of challenges due yesterday that I needed to read for first - I have started my book and should be done later today or early tomorrow

Restrictions have eased here so send Miss 8 off to Nana so I can have some time to myself. I plan to do not much more than east, exercise and read :-)

Restrictions have eased here a bit as well - I’m actually planning to go out to a restaurant with a couple of close friends this weekend and am greatly looking forward to it. It’s the simple things these days. Other than that, I plan to eat, exercise and read like Nikk! 😁
Grilling sounds great, that’s always the classic, fun thing to do around Memorial Day weekend.
We don't normally do anything for Memorial Day/Weekend because I work at a casino and we work every weekend and there are no holidays. The only holiday I consistently get off is our Thanksgiving in the States because it's on a Thursday and no matter what schedule changes have occurred over the last 14 years of me working here I've been lucky enough to have all of them off. The other holidays that are on specific dates (not day of the week) since they rotate every year I will eventually get Christmas Day, New Years Eve, Independence Day off.Sass I'm with you when I don't hear from people I consider a friend from here for a few days I get worried.

No worries - I myself on Saturday got sucked into working in the yard all day - yours sounds much more fun though! I have not watch that show yet, but I keep hearing good things about it.

Did you enjoy this one? I love the Pride series and am looking forward to this one, but haven't started it yet.
I did enjoy it MK. What is it about all these books where the heroines are completely certifiable! LOLAnyway, I haven't read all the pride books so I'm going back to do that now because I didn't get all the nuanced relationships in this book because of that. But yeah it was definitely entertaining.

It's so true! I think this will be with me for some time now.
And finally, here is your next task:45. Read 4 books by one of the 2020 FACs.
I'll be nice and let you know who they are so you don't have to go searching. 😉
January - Tessa Bailey
February - Jeaniene Frost
March - T.J. Klune
April - Julia Quinn
May - Sarina Bowen
June - Nora Roberts
And yes, you can use June too. 😊

I thought the audios were quite good of those books! In fact, grabbed the one you read during a sale, just haven't gotten to it yet. Kind of waiting for more so I can read them closer together. But I think you will enjoy the Pride series if you liked this one!
I'm going to read: Overnight Sensation by Sarina Bowen for this one because it works for 2 other challenges!
Sassafrass wrote: "I'm going to read: Overnight Sensation by Sarina Bowen for this one because it works for 2 other challenges!"I highly enjoyed that one, Sass! I too am going to read a Sarina Bowen book - I’m picking Man Cuffed

42. Read 4 books #5 or higher in a series.
43. Each teammate reads a book that has been read by one of the RRRC moderators. No pass for this task.
44. Read 6 books on RRRC's bookshelf, the books can not be added by anyone on your team.
Well I was looking at some of the teams and they have really completed a lot of tasks. We have taken a more leisurely route, but some of them are 30 tasks in already!ETA: one of the teams has 39 tasks! WOW!!!
39...wow! I knew whatever team I was on probably wouldn't win because my reading is around 2-3 books a week and there are a lot of people who finish a 300 page book in 2 hours. Learned that from the last romance challenge I did. I try to read books I already own to help whittle down my massive TBR.I have just loved this challenge.
I do think this has been one of my favorite challenges I’ve participated in here, this was a great concept.

Not sure where you are seeing this, but the furthest teams are getting Task 25 this morning. 😊 Some teams are really speedy though! Most are more like this one and just enjoying themselves and having fun!
CB wrote: "I do think this has been one of my favorite challenges I’ve participated in here, this was a great concept."This makes me so happy! 🥰
Sassafrass wrote: "Oh. I guess it was task #39? Not the actually number completed??I guess I just misread the post."
I had to go look up what task was #39... 🤦🏻♀️ Yes, I've assigned that one recently. But as usual, some teams are more competitive, I only hope everyone has fun! 😊
I haven't been peeking at the other teams to see their feedback but from our group this challenge is a big thumbs up and social distancing high fives. This is one challenge I will jump on always from now on. I love that I can read any fiction book (providing the prompt doesn't say romance only of course) for this challenge. I often read cozy mysteries and thrillers and such so having that option is a huge bonus...although I have been only using romances this round...it's nice to have the option of other genres. Thanks for all the hard work MKat!

Hi Nikk, any update on your book? It would be fun to get at least one more task in before the challenge ends. Thanks!

Here is your next task:43. Each teammate reads a book that has been read by one of the RRRC moderators. No pass for this task.
There is no date requirement for this task. Your chosen book just needs to be on a moderator's shelf marked as read and rated. Please provide a link to the moderator's shelf or review in your completion.
I picked KarenH's read shelf because she read Love Me to Death and it's on my June plan. I also wanted to see if my link would work as I sorted her shelf by Allison Brennan's name. https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...
Awesome I get to read the next book in the series of the book from my last completion as MountainKat has reviewed it :-)
