FYI - anyone can post the completion in the Q&A thread! 😊Here is your next task:
14. Read 4 books with fewer than 500 reviews.
You can see the number of review on the main book page. Use that number in your qualification - make sure you use reviews not ratings.
I am going to read
as it only has 77 reviews and is up next after my current read ( which has too many reviews to use for this task).
I'm not sure what I'm going to read just yet. I am looking at either....Killer Jam (415 Reviews)
Bringing Home the Bad Boy (295 reviews)
or
Through the Smoke (307 Reviews)
two are audio books and one isn't but I'm in the middle of two audio books right now so I'm not sure if I can fit another one in for our purposes. I'll figure it out tomorrow.

So, CB, Nikk, Christina which task do you think will be the hardest one for you to fill?I'm going to be looking at all them to come up with ideas of books I may want to read for tasks while I'm waiting.
I have to admit, I haven't paid much attention to the tasks except the ones you pointed out.

This is a really good question- I’ve been looking over the task list and this may sound odd, but one of the ones that jumps out at me is “read a book by a male author” - I’ll admit I really don’t anymore. So that would actually be more of a challenge for me to scare a book up for that. The other is where we have to read a book from the decade we were born in, which was the 1970s - sigh, the era of the bodice rippers. I sense a Kathleen Woodiwiss reread for that one, it’s been many years since I have done so, that would be kind of fun.
What about, what would be your most challenging potential tasks?
I think the decade one. Maybe I could do some georgette heyer? And believe it or not I was thinking the same thing about the male author. Simply because I read romance so male authors are rare. I may have to do one m/m for that one.
I used to heavily read male authors when I was predominantly into reading high fantasy, which was many years ago - Robert Jordan, Terry Goodkind, Raymond E. Feist, etc. Then Urban Fantasy came on the scene and I started devouring those books, and of course those are almost all female authors, although there are a few male UF authors - I just either don’t read them or I have and I don’t care for their writing style. So I read UF and romance now and that’s pretty much it.
Yeah, I feel like I need romance with my fantasy so I'm much more a fan of UF than I am High Fantasy. But, I liked the Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearne but that was because there was a heavy romance component to the stories.
so what are you reading now? I keep trying to avoid reading something new but then that backfires. So what y'all reading now?
I was in the mood for UF, so I’m trying a new series I found on KU, the Jacky Leon series, and it’s pretty good actually. What about you?
I just finished Artermis (by a male author no less!) and it was pretty good. It's by the same guy who did The Martian and he got too bogged down in the science stuff (again) but other than that, I enjoyed it.
It’s light UF, but the writing is good, and I’m enjoying it so far. MC is a huge werecat, and I like the dynamic the author has created about werecats and werewolves, I find it interesting.

Hi Christina, can you please update your post so that it is linking to the kindle edition? Currently it is to the paperback. Thanks!
CB her read list had the PB version as well and the post only mentions GR not a specific edition. Can we just post it?
I just posted the completion in the Q&A thread. The page count is the same for both the kindle and the paperback versions so it might be ok. MKat will let us know if there is an issue.
Are we only supposed to use the kindle edition? I guess that’s where I’m confused. We usually use whichever edition it is that we read. Let me look at those rules again. It usually doesn’t matter for me because I’m always using the kindle edition!
Ok, I see it there in the rules. I guess I didn’t pay attention to it when I only use the kindle edition anyway.
Yeah, we’re supposed to post the GR Kindle first edition page count. For some reason sometimes when linking to a book the paperback version pops up first though, so I try to look at all editions before posting.
alot of times for me ebook or PB edition pops up first so now I but the ASIN in the search field instead of the book title.

Changed the edition
I'm not stressing too much about the link going to the Kindle edition, but I am checking for that page count. For a little insight into my thoughts, I chose to use a specified edition to try to level the playing field some. With so many tasks requiring reading a certain number of pages, I was looking for a way to keep things 'fair'. I didn't want to have people using the large print hardcover or being stuck with the audiobook page count - both are kind of lopsided options. That said...Here is your next task:
66. As a team, pick a list with over 100 romance books on it, each member reads a book from that list. No pass for this task.
This task is limited to romance lists and therefore books. You will select one list and everyone reads a book from that list. Please include the number of the book you choose on that list and a link to the list in your completion post.
